The quotation above, about the £3.50 charge for BT evening and weekend calls, if you don't commit to 12 months , is correct as it's the same as I got, by letter.
Yes I understand that and fair enough to get the free evening calls.
However the person I was replying to said that they had to commit to 12 months even though they wanted to remove the free evening calls and revert back to the standard weekend calls.
This is what I said didn't seem correct.0 -

I was told the same and thought it completely unreasonable.0 -
We were due to switch to sky broadband at the end of this month and for the past month they have rang asking if we wanted to switch early. We rejected the first few times and the last time I asked what offers could they give to switch early. Now we get sky tv the entertainment plus package, unlimited broadband and phone for 12 months and only pay the line rental. The broadband router is syncing up faster than o2 did and so far had no problems. The o2 was at about 14-16 meg and sky is at 18-19 meg. Had doubts about switching but seem to have a good deal for now.
Got offered the same today, and have signed up, will be up and running in 3 weeks.0 -

Ah, I see.
Someone on here was, however, given just three options:
Renew for 12 months and keep e&w free
Don't renew and pay £3.50 per month for the service
Don't take e&w but have to agree to another 12 months.
I think the number of leavers is making them very edgy, so they are resorting to making untrue statements (more than usual). I was told that Sky would throttle.0 -

Sky line rental only gives inclusive weekend calls, but the Anytime calls package (£5/month) does include 0845 numbers. Information left on the website and included in leafleting to O2 customers does give the false impression that 0845s are not included and that there is a weekend and evenings call package.
I took out a triple O2 package some time ago after being really messed around in the Pipex/TalkTalk transfer. I have been so happy with O2 especially CS, and am mad at having to move to Sky.
I got my letter today informing me that they will save me money (10p a month!). It clearly states in the booklet that 0845 calls are 6.63p a minute and are not included in the Anytime package which I require. Is the booklet really correct or are they free? Seems odd. My main gripe however is that I really want to keep my O2 email address but they are only offering 20 Mb storage and my online service runs at around 100MB. They suggeste you move to gmail - fair enough but the hassle involved in changing mail address is huge.
There are plenty of deals around but the things I am most interested in are: free 0845 calls included, good UK-based CS on a free number, and most importantly that O2 address.
Oh yes - and their monthly charge includes £2.50 a month for NOT TAKING SKY TV (sic). So when did people charge you for NOT taking something?
All this makes me want to move BB supplier but no-one gets a really good write up..0 -
As someone on here asked for weekend and evening calls, as in the booklet, but was told that the booklet had errors, I specifically asked if the Anytime package had free 0845s, because the booklet said it did not.
It appears that there used to be two different Anytime packages (I think Anytime and Anytime UK ?)besides Anytime International, where one included some of international calls. I was told that they had been merged, losing international calls but gaining the 0845s.
I was twice told the 0845s were inclusive ; once when I asked lots of questions about what was inclusive (1471, caller display etc) before 'signing' and then when I , having read more of the website, called to be sure I had agreed to the correct Anytime package, being told there is now only one.
There is still some reference to the dual Anytime situation still on the website.0
