Well over at the 02 official forums, unless they have misunderstood it,
someone has been allowed to keep their "free" Sky Broadband for 12 months
BUT they are being charged (or should that be fined) £7.50 a month for not having Sky Phone or Telly.

No. The migration deal with Sky is actually free Broadband for 12 months, but you pay £5 for not having Sky Talk and and £2.50 for not having TV. That is the £7.50 deal.
So not migrating is better for me.

Just thinking, should I cancel my O2 direct debit? Just in case.

My scheduled date for migration was 5th October.

My letter states

Sky BB unlimited £7.50
Supp. for not having Sky £2.50
Supp. for not having Sky Talk £5.00
Sub Total £15.00
Welcome Discount -£7.50 for first 12 mths
New monthly price £7.50

Seems I'm one of the lucky ones, so just for others.

O2 All Rounder on a contract till Feb 14 @ £6.25, BT Evening + Weekends, Paid for Yearly Rental until Feb 14 and Sky Entertainment.

Offer is

Sky BB UL £7.50
Supp for no Sky Talk £5.00
Sub Tot £12.50
Welcome Disc £6.50
Monthly Price £6.00
and no contract,

so I guess I'll let Sky take my BB over and see how it goes.

So you're currently paying O2?

I've not paid a penny or put anything on my O2 paygo since March 2013, also on the Allrounder.

I'm guessing they don't have to claw back so much from you.

Am I right in thinking you can leave O2 broadband with no penalty even if you're still in contract, and even if they haven't written with a migration time and price?

I realise you can go after migration as there's no minimum term.

You're right, I am paying O2 (now Sky of course) the £6.25 as I took out the yearly contract with O2 just before it was announced that O2 were selling out to Sky. I also still pay O2 £5 per month for a Text only Sim card, so am getting the £5 discount. As I'm still using my O2 mobile, I don't know what would have happened if I had stopped this.

It means I get serious choke periods on my broadband that I never used to get with O2 running it.

Got the SKY letter today. Bargain price of £14 a month. (NOT)
