Hello all.
Can someone please advise me on the Sky migration situation? I got an email in the last few days saying I'm getting migrated over to Sky in the coming months and will be informed well in advance when this happens.
I am currently with o2 until some time next year (march I think) and my contract is free for that time. Can I just choose not to migrate and stay on my free o2 deal until then? I want to because I assume migration will mean paying Sky for their line rental and I'm signed up with BT for another year.
Thanks for any help.
Info is in the thread. Should be in the last few pages.0 -
Plusnet doesn't value customer loyalty and gives best deals for new customers only.My 12 month contract is up and called CS.They hardly offered any deal and showed "take it or leave it " attitude.
You say that as if it is a bad thing. Not offering a different price (after a single introductory offer) is a good thing, not bad.0 -

I rang Sky for some clarification and thought I would update this post in case there are others in the same position.
There will be migration prior to the the end of your O2 contract, although they claim to have delayed it as much as possible for me (we will see).
If you take Sky's line rental at the point of migration you may be eligible for a reduced rate on your BB charges, could be free but not necessarily so. You pay full whack if you remain with BT line rental (which they will allow initially).
If you don't want to stay with Sky, there is no early termination fee.
Looks like I'm off then, although the price of standard unlimited broadband seems to be around the £12/13 pm mark everywhere.0 -
Phoned Sky today to inquire about deals for O2 customers. Best they would offer was £17.50 for phone, BB and TV. I asked if they would honour the earlier £14.50 deal but did not seem interested.
Pity about the phone line scam. Seems just about every provider overcharges on the line rental. Even cable who say you don't need a phone then just charge more.0 -

Thought there would b something called customer loyalty. My mistake.I hd that favour from many other firms like insurance, sky, etc...etc..
Sorry to slander a good thing!!!0 -
I had my mobile with o2 so was getting the £5 broadband discount & 12 months half price until Nov, which worked out I was paying £4.75 a month for unlimited "Legacy" package.
I've just moved my mobile to 3, I was expecting to lose the £5 discount, so was expecting £9.75 but it went up to £14.50 !
I phoned o2, they said they half price deal was in conjunction with my mobile etc.
They put me through to Sky to see what they could offer me, there offer was -
12 months landline for £119
£2.50 a month unlimited Broadband
I said I'll think about it, the guy said that offer is ending soon .... I never asked how long soon was.
I have a BT Line Rental Saver until 2nd Nov, still might be worth leaving now though considering my current £14.50 BB bill.
£7.50 a month Line Rental (weekend calls)
£2.50 a month Broadband0 -
Does anyone who currently uses Sky BB have any specific feedback please? I'm trying to decide whether to take up the £7.50pm offer on a 12 month contract. Doesn't look like there are any other providers who can match this price currently having had a quick look. The available deals are for those who are also willing/able to move their landline too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have Sky LLU broadband, pay £7.50, plus £119.40 LR up front. I get a 9Mbps, link on a 45db line. Been with them over 6 years. CS at sytart was awful, but its very good now, IMHO. Usually the wait is for BTOR, to get off there bums, and fix line faults. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Thank you penrhyn, appreciate your feedback. I may stay put on o2 until I get the letter from Sky but by then they may charge me more than the £7.50pm they are offering now! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. £7.50 is the regular price assuming you take Sky Talk and Line rental along with Sky TV.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
