I was calling as a new customer and they couldn't offer me anything, just their standard prices unless I moved my landline too (which I didn't want to).

Two of my friends are with Sky and have said its fine.

I had my mobile with o2 so was getting the £5 broadband discount & 12 months half price until Nov, which worked out I was paying £4.75 a month for unlimited "Legacy" package.
I've just moved my mobile to 3, I was expecting to lose the £5 discount, so was expecting £9.75 but it went up to £14.50 !
I phoned o2, they said they half price deal was in conjunction with my mobile etc.
They put me through to Sky to see what they could offer me, there offer was -
    12 months landline for £119
    £2.50 a month unlimited Broadband
I said I'll think about it, the guy said that offer is ending soon .... I never asked how long soon was.
I have a BT Line Rental Saver until 2nd Nov, still might be worth leaving now though considering my current £14.50 BB bill.

I have been offered unlimited BB for £7.50pm for 12 months from Sky Broadband if I move over now o2.

My o2 BB is due to go upto £14pm so seems like a good offer as I don't know of any other BB companies currently beating this price.

This is for BB only as I want to leave my landline as it is and not move it.

I am moving next week and went on to O2 to get by BB and Phone changed over - had not realised until then that Sky had brought the O2 BB. I phoned Sky to see what the deal was, and got the Sky TV package for free (have always steered clear of paying for TV previously so never had Sky or anything), Broadband free for a year and phone at £14.50 per month, although by paying for a year up front which I did, the phone line was £119 for the year.

As I was paying a over the odds anyway for my O2 package as our rural area did not qualify for their £7.50 per month package, this feels like a pretty good deal to me, plus I get brownie points from my kids who are convinced they have had a deprived childhood not having Sky like their friends. And at the end of the year I can cancel if I want.

I'm still waiting for the catch - hopefully it won't be poor customer service from Sky!

Strange as i got many emails and texts about the buyout, along with several letters (snailmail).
I was getting the o2 discount for BB as also have o2 mobile so paying £12.50 instead of £17.50 a month. We had phone with Talk Talk and have Sky TV.
checked comparison sites and could not find a good deal, so went onto sky website ( mysky) and went through the process of adding BB etc. to see what i could get .

    I managed to get

    SkyTalk for £5
    line rental £14.50
    BB free for 6 months then £7.50 + £25 M&S voucher
    then TV for £21.50

Getting them all in one place i worked out i was saving £15 a month.
So rather than wait for the BB to fully change over to sky and then i lose the discount and having to pay £17.50 a month for BB, i changed over straight away. apart from a couple of line issues which were corrected quickly we have had no other issues

That's the regular price for what you have posted.

Fair does, were you aware you could save a little more by paying your line rental 12 months up front £119.40 if memory serves, a saving of £50 ish. You have to call to get it.

    http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/talk-weekends/

Upfront line rental: Available to new and existing customers taking Sky Broadband, Talk and line rental. Line rental is charged as an upfront cost of £119.40 for the entire 12 months. Equivalent to £9.95 per month - a saving of £54.60 over 12 months. Standard monthly price £14.50. After the 12 months has ended, you will automatically be moved on to the standard monthly price, unless you specify otherwise. Only available by calling 08442 410311.

No, but loads of us were offered 12m free broadband back in the Spring when the takeover was first announced.

I was offered this and would have meant free broadband through till April which I took them up on.

Two weeks ago I rang BT (my landline provider) and O2 broadband to let them know I will be moving house and to transfer what I have already to my new address.

BT gave me a lawn number to give to O2. Basically I was told I couldn't do anything until moving day.

Today (moving day) I have been told by O2 that they cannot transfer my account I can only sign up for a sky contract or leave.

I am not going with sky so now I am looking for a new broadband provider. So they are not going to honour my free broadband that I should have had until April.

    Hello all.

Can someone please advise me on the Sky migration situation? I got an email in the last few days saying I'm getting migrated over to Sky in the coming months and will be informed well in advance when this happens.

I am currently with o2 until some time next year (march I think) and my contract is free for that time. Can I just choose not to migrate and stay on my free o2 deal until then? I want to because I assume migration will mean paying Sky for their line rental and I'm signed up with BT for another year.

    Thanks for any help.
