Are you contagious? Because had you put mine at risk of sickness, a barbed comment would be the least of your worries!

It seems the OP is on a one woman mission to alienate herself and her child from the entire community and her poor husband is doing everything he can to mitigate it.

I'll probably be reported for this but it might be time to have a chat with your GP because your reactions aren't quite all there.
no you wont get in trouble but easy to ignore:rotfl:

    Go along again.
Offer to help, smile at people, offer to make a cuppa or whatever.
DS went to toddler group and I always tried to help where I could, be it with making snack, making a cuppa for someone, helping tidy up, smiling, etc, even though I have a very sore back a lot of the time.

Alienate herself from the entire community? She goes to 3 other mother and toddler groups from her own admission.

OP if you were ill, here's a thought. Maybe you should have stayed at home.

I agree with Barbara, I was going to say a similar thing. You weren't feeling well and it can make you more sensitive to things people say. Try to rise above it and try going to the playgroup again, even if it's just for your daughter's sake. If you still feel she is being hostile it might be worth having a non-confrontational chat with her about it.

Big hugs to you, hope you're feeling better. :)

p.s I use to hate going to the local playgroup and found most people very cliche and not that welcoming. However, after a lot of persistence it did get better. x

It really is bad form not to help whoever you are. All mums and kids would help in my day. A mum with ms always helped extensively so if she could help so could we all. The more that help the quicker it is done leaving all the work to the committee members is ridiculous.

Did anyone else think this was going to be one of the threads where a husband has been involved in !!!!!! or been with prostitutes. I had no idea it would be about a play group session.

Oh, you mean someone "disgusted and upset" about something a bit more serious than a grown woman throwing a wobbler about a comment someone made that she didn't like? It's really rather remarkable, isn't it? Proportion. A sense of. None.

Perhaps there's at least one other person from the same group reading this, thinking "thank God for that, the lazy so and so isn't coming back."
