Feeling disgusted and upset

If you are new to the town surely helping at the play group would help you integrate with the other Mums, and make friends. Did you tell the lady you couldn't help as you were feeling unwell of did you just walk out ?
Just walking out may have given the impression that you are too important to help with tidying up.0 -
It seems like you are really annoyed because she called you out for being lazy.0

all other parents just look after their own then go home with kids.nobody else seems to get shouted at!.commitee members do setting and clearing up
i agree im not happy with my daughter being there with her being nice one minute then blanking us..shes SUPPOSED to be the proffesional
Is she being paid? Or is she a volunteer? Could you do better yourself? She's a human like everyone else and presumably has her off-days. But I can see you posted in hope of agreement rather than different viewpoints so I will bow out.0 -
You need to get DH to reiterate the responsibilities of the committee members then setting out what is expected and what is not.
Do the c members have to adhere to rules re how to treat parents and children? Isn't there an all is welcome policy?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

Unless she is being paid to be a teacher at the toddler group then what she does for a living is absolutely irrelevant!0 -
It seems that you are expecting standards of behaviour which you do not appear to be applying to yourself.
And you're new to this place and have caused unnecessary upset already? Good luck with that!0 -
You will find in life that there are always those who want to be in charge of everything and can be quite aggressive about doing it - which shouting at someone is.
You need to get DH to diplomatically speak to all c members and you also need to show this person that she doesn't bother you one bit.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Well, I've attended many different playgroups and, to be honest, I would have felt lazy and ungrateful if I'd left all the clearing up to a chosen few. I didn't ALWAYS help, sometimes I was one of the mums who had to dash off, but don't you think it would be a nicer atmosphere all round if everyone helped a little?
If you're getting your knickers in a twist about playgroup politics then you just wait til school :eek:0
