Catznine, you probably do have potatoes - I only planted some of mine a couple of weeks ago, and they are through already.
If you have been away for two weeks, everything will have shot up while you have been gone.
Hope you have a good trip back, we were in Florida in October, and have already booked to go back later this yearYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Afternoon Guys!
Hope everyone is well as I havent looked through the thread yet.
Today has been busy with hospital visits x 2, market and odd jobs needing doing.
2 x washloads (bedding and OH's shirts/tops) have been done and dried outside on the line. DW unloaded and cleaner has been here today, so house all nice and sparkly:D...still no real complaints about my cleaner and she has been here for 10 weeks now...its a miracle:o
After hospital we went to the local market to get fruit and veg. Couldnt stay out long as the battery on my scooter was on utra low as it hasnt been charged in a while. Managed to buy cherries x 2lbs, pears 4lbs, apples 5lbs, bananas 4lbs, lettuce x 2, cucumber x 2, new pots 4lbs, spring onions x 2, onions x 12, french beans x 2 packets, vine toms x 8, baking spuds x 8 (huge-1 will feed 2 people!), cabbage x 2, carrots 4lbs, parsnips 2lbs, oranges 4lbs, raspberries x 2 punnets, aubergine x 2 cauliflower x 2 and swede 2lbs. Some of this is for FIL/MIL but it came in at £13, which I thought was ever so cheap:D Also bought 12 fresh lamb chops (double) for £10, so this will do us 4 meals and 10 big pork chops for £5! It was quiet, so he let me have them cheaper.
Also popped in Wilkinson and grabbed 2 x Colegate toothpaste reduced to 50p each, garden gloves x 2 60p each and 2 bars of Lindt choccie 99p each:o ..also a few other bits for garden...total £9.50'ish.
Dinner tonight is different from my menu plan and we are having creamy pork chops, mini roasties, roasted carrots and french beans....smells delish.
Anyway, hope all is well. HUgs to all.

Hello Everyone
Thought I'd drop in & say hello. I'm off work poorly today. I've had a hug of those that have offered as I'm feeling a little sorry for myself !!!.
I've managed to do a couple of things, I made up a shepherds pie that I should've done last night but couldn't as the smell would have made me vomit even more!!! (that's gone in the freezer for another day), I done some washing and put it out to dry and I've sorted out all my paperwork ie filing it away and shredding bits.
Going to sort tea out now as DS is going to boys brigadge tonight so we have to eat early.
Enjoy the rest of today to anyone thats celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

Afternoon all,
Congratuilations Charlie's mum...take it from me you are only a youngster...enjoy....hit the shops.
Kyle...look after that mouth, as somebody said, it could be an infection which you would need to nip in the bud.
Jet, skydive...wow!
Amie...love the heat but not being out in the sun without being covered up or wearing factor 30 at least.
Can't take to peanut butter somehow, bought which must now be nearly past its use by date, might sneak spoonfuls here and there into bread...love nuts just can't take to the butter...would welcome ideas on how to use it so that I can't taste it IYKWIM.
Mioliere...enjoy your holiday...lucky you having a house in western France, never mind that it is dilapidated, its shelter!
Jockett, I agree about Aldi (and Lidl) their tinned stuff is excellent value and quality. Lucky you to be off to the Dominican Rep, enjoy.
Herbaholic, thanks for reminding me to pay bills before I go away...don't want interest on CC.

Hello again.
Just a quick question for all of you who know about frozen sandwiches - when you do cheese sandwiches, do you slice it or grate it? Which is easier?

Hi Ladygrim!
I would use grated cheese for frozen sandwiches! I always grate cheese anyway before I freeze it.

Hi all
Thanks for the hugs re my gum, it is agony but went to dr and he gave me some tramadol (sp) strong painkiller, warned me it would make me sleepy, thought nah i'll manage, this past hour i am really fighting to stay awake! feel so light headed, only took the one thanks to mums advice.
Must admit ladygrim:o that i have not been doing the salt rinses, serves me right, my gum has been hurting loads ever since yesterday morning when a bit came off, forgot to say that to dr!
Still a bit sore, hope it passes, yes as twink said it was lasered, remember smelling a burning smell as it was being done:eek:
happy birthday to charlies mum, always thought u were younger:D
Hugs
Kyle0 -
well then kyle, not been doing the salt rinses, thought as much but i thought no she will do as she is told this time so i didnt ask, suffering now then
have done a pile of ironing (kyles) had a walk and made pancakes, looked after the boys and been in the greenhouse, supposed to be much colder at the weekend so will leave the bedding plants inside
havent heard from grannybroon for a while
queenie maybe your friend is just funny about second hand beds, she might be happy to take a suite though or she is maybe a bit embarrased0 -
KYLE - you MUST have some hot salt water rinses! I used to be a dental nurse and that is the best thing for keeping the wound free of infection. If the painkillers don't work you should still see a dentist. Over the bank holiday, NHS Direct should be able to find you an emergency dentist. Their number is 0845 46 47. Your own dentist will probably put an emergency contact number on his answerphone if he's closed over the weekend.
LITTLE MISS SAVER - sorry you're feeling poorly. Hope you get better soon.
Well, dinner was spag bol from the freezer - not with pasta but with potato wedges left over from last night. For two weeks now we've been eating 'free' food from the freezer but I will have to actually buy new food tomorrow! Pudding was QUEENIE'S Jam Crumblies with custard - specially requested by DH. It was lovely.
Have just cleared up the dinner things; it's still nice and sunny so DH is playing with his new car and everything smells of T-Cut, and I am going to settle down with my knitting and Channel Five's documentary about Chairman Mao - I only hope I can stay awake.
I'll pop back in later to catch up. Hope you all have a lovely evening.
