Haven't read whole thread, but thought I'd add what I use. I spent years and years being bitten to pieces and I react badly to bites and they really swell up - until I started to use boots insect repellent with 50% deet, flippin excellent stuff, never get bitten when I am using that.

If for some reason I am out somewhere and haven't got my insect repellent and do get bitten, then germolene is the thing to put on them, if you start putting germolene on them, as soon as you see them, even before they start to itch, then it reduces the swelling, also it works better than bite cream for stopping them from itching. I've managed to convert all my family and friends to using Germolene cause their bites were driving them crazy and I told them just to try it, now they all use it as well. Tried it one day as I didn't have anything else, never looked back.

They're very fine nets that you hang from the roof/something above the bed, then you tuck the edges under the mattress. They are fine enough to prevent anything that flies/crawls coming to visit you in the night. Yes they're fine for kids - tuck it in tight so it doesn't touch them and show them how to get out if they need the loo, but they're no more likely to choke on a net than on a sheet, TBH. Best thing would be to surf or go into a shop and see them so you get the best idea.

The Avon Dry Oil Body Spray (product code 25742) in Soft & Fresh fragrance is on offer at the moment at 2 for £4.00 at http://www.avon.uk.com/

Can heartily recommend Avon skin-so-soft. Just come back and the only bites we got were when we forgot to apply it......

Citronella on sale from herbal shops mother natures own way of getting them to leave you alone or if out and about use fresh lemon or vinegar also vinegar doesnt smell nice but it works guaranteed and citronella costs 1/5 of price of insect repellants and it doesnt spoil your perfume either.

Im very into herbal remodies and cures.:A :A

We were at a local market in Spain on Sunday. It's time now for the new crop of lemons to go on sale. The stallholders were just slicing thro the lemons and rubbing lemon directly onto their arms, legs etc. This also helps to keep flies at bay
A lot of the colognes the Spanish use also have a lemon base
