I have just taken up the free tv & broadband offer. I had the tv installed last Sunday and the phone & broadband will be activated tomorrow.

I asked the tv installer if the sky box has to be connected to the telephone socket, and he said only if you have multiscreen connected.

Could anyone that has had the free tv installation confirm about the telephone connection please.

I don't have mine connected, I live in an old house and couldn't be doing with the wires everywhere as our tv is quiet a distance to our phone socket.
  • Mine not connected to telephone line. Installer said it was unnecessary as box was connected to wifi internet.

I agree with the above post.
  • the box if I remember rightly needs to have an adapter to connect wirelessly. I connected mine with an old netgear wireless adapter i had and it works fine

I guess most people were offered Sky HD, these have built-in wifi so no ugly adapters needed.

I have Sky HD and don't have built in wifi. Only the new boxes have it which is hopefully what anyone joining now will get.

I had my box and a new dish installed on Thursday and it is one of the new ones which include the wifi inside.
  • I'm nearly at the end of my free deal and they've written to me and offered me TV for half price as long as I take their BB and line rental, has anyone else got any better deals? This really isn't that good to me as I can take or leave the TV, we tend to watch the freeview channels and Netflix.
