    Before you purchase your item

img_checkmark_23X17.gifPostage & packaging costs, handling time and delivery services
As a buyer, to avoid possible problems or misunderstandings, you should consider the postage & packaging (P&P) costs, handling time and other postage services before you bid on or buy an item. Make sure you review the item description carefully for any additional information. If you have any questions about P&P, please contact the seller before you bid on or buy the item
    Important factors to consider include:
    • What is the cost of P&P?
    • Does the seller deliver to my area?
    • Can I get the item when I need it?
    • Can I track my package?
    • Can I get a P&P discount if I buy more than one item?
    • What type of handling time does the seller offer?

    You admit it then :T

On a side note, I will back you up and confirm that the quote and multiquote on this forum can be a bit screwy. Whenever I use multiquote the first message never shows up. With his £80million you'd think Martin could get that fixed wouldn't you?

That you employed playground tactics by popping the Muppets on.....seemed obvious really but needed mentioning.;)

Thanks for that, I don't suppose that poster will accept that though.

Yes, so where does it say that charges other than postage and packing are to be included? If under that section a charge is detailed legally it should equate to those costs.

If a seller wishes to add into their listing that other costs are included that would negate that issue. Most don't so they are actually in breach of Ebay terms and a buyer is within their rights to contest the charges.

    The fine print

    • Bidding is meant to be fun, but remember that each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. All bids are active until the listing ends. If you win a listing, you’re obligated to purchase the item.

Again, where does it say that you are obligated to pay more than the actual cost of postage and packing? I always pay if I win.

Why do you think Ebay have the star system which includes a rating for P&p? For those buyers who have paid what was asked but who feel unfairly treated.

this really says it all ,

REPORT THE BUYER FOR TRYING TO CHANGE THE PRICE AND FEEDBACK EXTORSION - its time to clamp down on scam buyers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

weather you like it or not that is how you are seen by your actions, I stopped selling because of this sort of action , I wish I had done the above when I was

No, whether you like it or not Ebay support charging only the actual cost of postage not inflated charges. Feedback extortion would be applicable if that was mentioned, I wouldn't go down that route.

However, if you contend that contacting the buyer could be seen that way I may take that onboard and just pay up and leave the appropriate stars. Would that be better?

It doesn't but it does make it clear the buyer should be aware of the postage charges before buying. I think that makes the buyer as guilty as the seller if they still buy and then claim they've been ripped off after.

No, it is you who are in an entrenched position and cannot see why Ebay enforce the correct P&p by use of the star system.

It is of little use to cast aspersions on those who use the system as intended; so, if they are unhappy with the postal charges because they are not as paid by the seller but merely a ruse to get around fees, they leave appropriate feedback by way of low stars for P&P, even if the product is as shown.

Address the issues instead of simply adopting a head in sand attitude. You may do it, that does not make it correct.

    As for your request:rotfl:
