Is the nationwide bank data protection team the same as the nationwide credit card data protection ? I did ring nationwide creditcard up and they said they dnt have a data protection team and to write to this address if I want a statement of the last 6 yrs of charges

money claim on-line - its where you file your claim with the court on internet.
  • Help with credit card charges.
    1) I had interest free credit for a small amount paying £100 a month on Direct Debit
    2) Third of
period decided to increase loan, arranged with Credit card company to increase Direct Debit to £200
    3) Only £100 went through when minimum payment was £121.00 . The increased payment actually was activated the next month.
    4) They then cancelled the interest free period. As a result I have paid £12 in a late payment fee and £ 22O accumulated interest.
    5) I have written to the credit card company but have rejected my claim.
    6) Can I claim the interest back?
  • Hi - Not sure if I should be putting this as a reply - but only just joined and it relates to this anyhow!
I have been swapping my CC balances for 0%'s for a while now - but still have statements from when I didn't (within the last 6 years) - even though those accounts have had their balances transferred and are now closed - could I still claim the charges?? (seems long gone now - but thought I'd ask!)
    Thanks

Na thats fine mate, just send it there as they have to send it on to the relevant department. You could have a look on the 1st page of the forums, it has a post in there with all address' for most banks etc ;)

In relation to the wording just make sure it inlcudes all the following:

I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the default charges for late/missed payments, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders I have paid over the last six years

  • Having been successful at claiming back bank account and credit card charges, I still have 2 on going claims against credit card companies. I have put one through the Financial ombudsman who has now written back saying that all cases are suspended due to the test case.
As I thought credit card charges were different than bank charges for current accounts, can I still persue these cases through the small courts or are they too suspending ALL reclaim cases

Any thoughts, experiences from anyone since the announcement
    Keep right on!!

    hi

i would check back with the ombudsman as there are no overraft fees associated with credit cards so the court case has no bearing on a claim over late payments. if you have a letter from the ombudsman please put the wordings on here as this would be a major change from what we have been told till now.
