Barclaycard owe me £470 but £615 with interest for late and over limit charges can you still these??0

Barclaycard have offered me £152 of the £615 i'm trying to claim, i said i would accept £470 without the interest and they have said no.
Can you still claim against credit cards for late payments and being over the limit.
Can you still claim through MCOL and go to court???
Has anyone accepted a partial offer and then proceded to claim the rest??0 -
Yes you can still claim - credit cards are not included in the 'test case' going on just now.0

Hi, im new to this site and so far i think its great!
Im going to start asking for the last 6 years of statements this week to get the ball rolling.
But my queston is can i ask for charges back from an old credit card i dont use anymore??
I had a capital one card and was charged a few times for the period i had it then i took out a loan to pay my credit cards off and paid capital one off and shut the account, so can i ask for the charges back even though im not using the card and the account has been closed for over 2 years??
Any help would be much appreciated!

I am a little confused. I started claiming back my bank charges a few weeks ago and they have until next Wednesday to pay up or I threatened court.
Now with the news hitting the headlines I'm not sure I still can. I know all claims are being suspended for bank charges but does it apply to credit card charges also?
I've been given conflicting advice, does anyone know if I should go ahead and take them to court or would I be wasting my time?0 -
Credit cards are not affected by the test case at all, so go ahead and file that claim!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Hi,
I have started claiming back the charges from my Natwest credit card.
I sent the first letter saying.....I am writing to request that you repay all the default charges that have been applied to my account. I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to Natwest
The charges total £80.00 plus as I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money I have calculated £4.84interest at the statutory rate, the amount the court will award.
I therefore ask that you repay me the full amount of £84.84. I have attached a full schedule of the charges and interest with this document.
I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days.
I also included a list (from the main MSE site) of all the charges + interest.
I didn’t include all the one that had been paid back as I figured Natwest would notice (seem to notice when I have gone over but not when it’s because of their charges or interest).
I sent the above letter on 31st July (got proof of postage so I would know when I sent it).
The charges have mainly been debited because I gone over my limit the month before, but this is because of their charges taking me over drawn, each month they go out I don’t get anything letting me know that they will be debited, so they expect me to be psychic, when they do get debited I have phoned up and explained that I went over because of their charges, a couple of occasion they have refund but not on all occasions.
This morning I have received a letter back from them which to be honest is an insult.

I know I’m not going to settle at the pathetic amount they have suggested but I am not totally sure what the next step would be.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there
Well for the offer of £8+ i would ring them up tell them that it is unlawful to charge for it. Ask them over the phone if they are going to give you what you owed if not tell them you will take further action.
If they dont offer you what you want there and then, send a copy of the letter back and inform them the same and see if they up it.
For such a little amount you should get it back with least hassle.
I am sure others will offer you helpMarch 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
