Going to start by saying a lot of you are being unfair.

I was actually an employee of Your Building Maintenance and Wayne & Caroline are friends of mine. Everyone has their opinions and views of a company because of being told things via a telephone, which you are all welcome to.

I just want to point a couple of things for you because I think a lot of you are unclear of the FULL situation.

When I joined in January to help Wayne, Caroline and Robyn, every intention was there that engineers would be paid within 30 days of invoice, the vision that this would be carried on for every job that an engineer done was there, however, there where complications. Which I will now explain.

The clients that YBM had did in some mess Caroline around in regards to paying / invoicing, for example.

Crystal, refused to pay invoices as they needed to clear a VAT bill, then they when bust and agreed to pay £500 per month on a £8-9k bill.

Richardsons, 6 months of work for them, quoting works, they then come back to say they wanted all works done via a schedule of rates which was never agreed to when YBM first agreed to works for Richardsons. Also, prices agreed between engineers and YBM then onwards to Richardsons where given between 5-10% lift. Example, engineer quotes £200 for a PCB board change, YBM would quote Richardsons around the £220-230 mark. Now, after these works where carried out, Richardsons did not pay for 6 months. In that time, Wayne & Caroline funded engineers invoices out of their own pocket. As im sure you are aware, a newly found company with not a lot of backing can only fund so much before it starts getting late on invoices. Which is why, engineers like most of you, calling the office where told it would be paid in 7 days, 14 days ect ect, because that was what Richardsons had been saying for months.

I myself am owed nearly £1500 for 5 weeks work from YBM backdating to end of May, which, I do not think I will get and will affect our friendship, not because Wayne & Caroline have pocketed the money, because they have been shot in the foot by clients.

In this post I am not saying Caroline, Wayne and Robyn are innocent, there are things they have done that they could of done better to allow the business to run better and they might not be in the situation they are in.

I just wanted to take some time, after moving on from YBM, to let some people, and to all people that read this thread, that they have NOT pocketed monies from the company.

To the UncleBulgaria guy: I would like to say I think you are bang out of order. I understand you are owed money, and you have every right to chase that money via legal routes, going to someones house where they have children, young children at that, so too cause hassle and distress to them by doing that, is very unfair and think you should really think next time before going there. I mean, from what I know, they have lost that house anyway and no longer live there.

For a start I have never been to their house, I said I drove past it the other day! Get YOUR facts right! I drove down that road on the way to Southend, I live in Staffordshire and have family near to them, I had the bailiffs visit that property!

Another thing is, please don't tell me I'm bang out of order when those friends/ex friends of yours told lies after lies after lies, not just to me but to a multitude of people allowing them to believe that they would be paid! I don't care if they paid people out of their own pockets and I don't care about your excuses regarding their cash flow problems. I have said to some of the others owed money, if they told me the truth early on I wouldn't have had such a problem with not being paid, its a peril of being self employed. Further more I carried out domestic work that should have been paid within seven days and Wayne was already lying through his teeth in January and that was six months after they started up!!!!

You go into starting a business without enough capital and cash to back up any pitfalls at your peril, you do not make excuses for them. This is a case of running before he can walk!

Another thing matey, you all lied when contractors rang for information regarding their money, including Rocket_man who apologised for doing so but said he was given no option, he was instructed not to tell the truth to anyone and keep fobbing them off!

I have never said Wayne and Caroline have pocketed all the money, I may have said it was miss appropiated i.e. used for things other than paying off contractors but thats just a guess on my part and relying on secondhand info. The facts are that company owe thousands of pounds out not just a few hundred, they carried on running up huge debts even when things were getting difficult.

If you're asking me to believe that Crystal Property Care needed to pay a VAT bill then I'll ring them up and put that to them. Their version of events is that Wayne, Caroline and Co failed on multiple occasions to detail invoices to link them to specific jobs, amateur office practices which I've been told the same story by multiple parties not just one.

Caroline got messed about? Boo hoo, lying to contractors about money and then getting mouthy on the phone doesn't curry favour with anyone!

I would never cause distress to their kids, their level of intelligence is such that they pi**ed loads of people off and used their own address as the business address, clever that!

You're either a fool or you're Wayne, Caroline or Robin or some other party with their fingers in that mouldy pie. Wayne claimed that Crystal debt was £16k so where are you getting your facts from?

In short they're liars, amateurs and cheeky sods for even trying to make excuses up for not paying people and playing the victim card!

And last but not least, I was almost bankrupted by a builder who took me for a lot of money and left me owing out for materials costing thousands. I didn't lie to my creditors, I told them the situation and asked for time to pay, I lost my house, my car and almost my sanity. I paid off my debts and gained respect from my creditors for not running away from things!
Don't presume to lecture me on who's out of order, they carried on regardless of the fact things were getting worse, did they stop to think about how those owed money would pay their bills or save their business?!?! We're talking over a dozen people/companies here not just my paltry amount!

p.s. If thats who I think it is from the office I include you in that list of liars!
  • I was mearly pointing out that you do not know everything.

Please do not call me a liar when I was doing my job that a senior colleague had asked me to do. I hope you can appreciate that.

I have PM'd you - if you need to contact me further, feel free to do so.
  • I've PM'd you back.

As far as the court, Companies House, Lloyd's TSB and others are aware he's still trading and hasn't applied to wind up Your Building Maintenance Ltd yet.
Please note if he does you can still stop this by calling the insolvency service to ask for it to be stopped.

Just in case anyone is still looking to get in touch with the lovely Wayne, (text removed by MSE Forum Team) the business address may be one to try. Let us all know if you have any luck.

(Text removed by MSE Forum Team)

Just to add, I've checked out the other liars facebook page, (text removed by MSE Forum Team), apparently he got (text removed by MSE Forum Team) too! Oh dear it gets even better. He is actually moaning about being left with no money but didn't worry about lying over the phone, or even letting all the poor (text removed by MSE Forum Team) who were taken for a lot of money, that Wayne couldn't organise a (text removed by MSE Forum Team) up in a brewery.

Someone on his facebook page said "karma" damn right I say. Now for Wayne and Caroline!!
  • Hi, new to this but we are sorry to say we have had the same experience. Work carried out in January 2013 and still no payment - loads or promises to pay but all lies seeing as not paid yet.

Tried to contact today but emails failed to send, mobile numbers not connecting and landlines constantly engaged.

Caroline and Wayne Mead - have you no morals! Wayne seems so decent and nice when you talk to him - but I am guilty of believing people. Caroline Mead - well I have never spoken to a more rude, arrogant old witch in my life.

All I can say is that you are the ones who have to live with yourselves - I can sleep at night.

Thank you unclebulgaria - you are a star xx
  • If you know any others with outstanding debts bali1960 please tell them to keep looking here because as soon as I know anymore I'll post it. Robin Bailey got a telling off on his own facebook page from people who were disgusted with his behaviour too.
Its in court like I said 03/09/13 and I'll post time and place closer to the day. Can't say I expect him to turn up though.

Anyone interested in the time and date of the court case against Your Building Maintenance Ltd?
Southend County Court, Tylers House, Tylers Avenue, Southend On Sea, Essex, SS1 2AW. Date 03/09/13 at 2.00pm.
If you have bailiffs or want to personally serve papers on the company officer, Wayne Mead, then you can try then.
I have constantly asked the court if there has been any request to postpone and they have said no.
I wouldn't hold my breath for him to turn up but it does warn him on the Order For Questioning that failure to turn up will cause a Judge to order him there and then failure to turn up again will result in arrest for comtempt of court.
I will keep anyone interested updated with any information I get.
  • Did he show up to the court date?
  • Did he show up to the court date?

Nope he didn't but then I didn't expect him to really.
I've only been able to find out today as it takes quite a long time to get information from the actual court to the admin part.
A suspended committal order has been issued and a new Order For Questioning has been issued to be served by a Bailiff. This time its been issued by a judge and he'll be questioned by a judge and if he doesn't turn up he will be arrested for contempt of court.
The court officer has told me that the judge will take a very dim view of him not turning up and wasting court time.
