My first true girlfriend was 6' 1" and I'm 5' 10". She used to wear very large-heeled boots which made her appear to tower over me. It didn't really bother me... sometimes it was even convenient ;)

My partner is, give or take a few mm, the same height as me.

Thinking about it most of my girlfriends have been around the same height - some a little shorter, some a little taller - and it's never bothered me.

Many of my friends though won't date a girl who isn't at least a few inches shorter than them.

One of my female friends is 6ft 2 ins tall, and she doesn't like men to be taller than her, she finds very tall men to be slightly intimidating. Her husband is a couple of inches shorter than her

I'm 5,3, my OH, 5.7 if that so we're a nice fit. A friend called me on a first date to tell me the guy was in fact a midget - she's still with him and he's not a midget at all, she's 5,7 and he's about 5,6. Reminds me of the SATC episode when Samantha grudgingly agrees to a date with a guy she meets at a bar - sitting down. She goes to meet him in a pub, he's sitting down again, it isn't 'til he gets up that she gets the shock of her life, the guy is tiny and worst still, she checks out his jacket hanging on the chair and it says Boys Department - lol, he catches her running out the pub as he returns from the toilet haha.

I would always have said I preferred men taller than me, I'm 5ft 9.
I had a bf in my late teens who was 5ft 7 and it didn't bother me.
Hubby is 5ft 11 but I still won't wear high heels when I'm with him, don't like to be taller than him. But I would've married him if he have been shorter

Im 5f 3 an oh is 6f tall, at the start it made me feel so short and i never ever had an issue with my height, during our first year going out, i always wore high heel despite that i have horrondeous sensitive feet and at the end of the day my feet was covered in blisters.
After the 2 year i didn't care anymore and v happy that my dd's take after him and are tall for their age.

?! Does he sob on the sofa often?

    Sounds a bit harsh.
I giggled as what I saw as a 'lirism' for 'slob' and thought 'its not me this time':o:)
    Didn't even think of that!

I just had this image of the bloke sitting on the sofa sobbing and his wife just being annoyed about his legs.

Snigger! I'm on the iPad and it clearly doesn't recognise the word slobbing! That'll teach me to double check before I post :o:).

I'm 5'8" and OH is.... 5'8"!! (when we're both in bare feet mind!) It does give us something to laugh about when I stick on a pair of heels at the weekend, especially when it's the super high ones.

    Does it bother us?

    Him? Nope.

Me? Well, I'm conscious of it, but knowing it doesn't bother him, I try not to let it bother me!!

As someone told me when I met MrD (I'm 5ft2.5, he's 6ft1) we're all the same height laid down ;)

See this is what I adore about being with a tall man. The feeling of being enveloped in the safety of their arms.

    I'm 5ft 3ish, maybe 5ft 4.

I went on a date recently with a chap who was only 5ft 1 and I just couldn't get my head round that. He was shorter than my 12 year old son!

I have a new rule - they have to be at least taller than me.;)
