The trouble with being short when your man is tall is that sometimes you need a box to stand on.;)
Wearing heels sorts that problem outThe best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -

I have some almost that tall, but not quite. (I think they give me nine inches height) they are hugely comfortable, possibly the most comfortable of all my heels, BUT its really odd going to the loo as your knees are by your chin:o. I haven't worn them for years and years but don't want to get rid of them as they remind me of good times.0 -

Wow. How tall is your guy? I would go flat on my face wibbly, wobbling around in shoes that high. Not a good look. If I am in heels I like to come up to just over a guys shoulder height. That way I am not pearing up his nose and he isn't looking down on me thinking 'good god what a shortie'.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. In an ideal world I'd probably opt for 6ft plus if I got to choose a height on its own. I'm 5'8 and a bit and my OH is 5'7 and a bit. I'd like him to be taller, don't ever crack out the high heels if we go out together because I feel lanky and as though I look *bigger* in general. But he's special enough that I can cope with being a bit taller0

I'm almost 6' and my DH is 5' 9". My other serious relationship was around the same height as DH. I've dated men who were the same height or taller than me and I suppose it would have been nice to have a taller husband, but there are a lot of qualities that my DH possesses that I value far more than his height.
I don't do heels. Not because of the height difference, but because I can't walk in the damn things! And having size 9 feetmakes it tricky to find nice "girly" shoes.

I'm 5ft 0 and he's 5ft 11. Hence the box.:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'm 6'4", one of my friends is 5'6". Neither of us generally have much trouble (other than the trouble women usually cause anyway).
Not all women are the same, some won't notice or acknowledge height difference, some will. There's no right answer.0 -
It's interesting, that even in these days of equality, women still prefer the man to be taller than them.
Just wondering, if the man was in all other ways her total ideal, would women not consider the guy if he was shorter than her.
My mum was 5ft 6inches and my dad was 5ft 3inches. But he was the love of her life.
For the record, I'm 5ft 4in and my husband is 5ft 11 ins. But that's just the way it turned out, I didn't have any preconceived ideas about only going out with men taller than me. I just met him, and that was it.Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
When I was younger I had a complex abou being 5ft9 and only considered boys taller than me. I met my OH at 18 and he happened to be 6ft3 so he's lovely and tall - I can wear any shoes I like, which is nice. If he was shorter than me, at the time I wouldn't haven't looked twice at him but I wonder if it would matter now I'm 27. I will never know.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0
