I'm from a short family and have always preferred shorter men. Not necessarily shorter than me (I'm 5ft 5/6) but shortish. My hubby is 5ft 7 and that suits me fine.
I hate being smothered in a chest when I'm hugged by someone tall.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I don't like men that tower over me, but I wouldn't really fancy anybody shorter than me either.0

I prefer men to be around my height. I'm 5'9". DH is 6'4" and some days he only looks a little bit taller than me. Other days, I look at him and he's like a giant! I get cross when he's sobbing on the sofa if I'm trying to get stuff done because he takes up so much space that I'm like a flipping pony jumping over his legs all the time. Both kids are tall but DD is one of the shorter ones in her year at school so we must all have bred giants! DS is 2 years younger than DD and catching her up height wise. We went on cub camp a couple of weeks ago and the scout leader was there too. At one point he was watching DS and said "He's just like you, really tall and skinny!". Dd got the hump a bit when we were looking around secondary schools for her and all the teachers there thought we were looking for DS. At one point, the teacher was asking him if he thought he'd like year 7 and he said "I'm only in year 3" the teacher said "crikey, how did you get so big?!" To which DS turned and gestured to me and said "She's my Mum" and turned the other way "and he's my Dad!".
DH's height used to help out no end in shops because I could see him from the other side of the shop over the displays. They have made them bigger and closer now so I can't see him. I now have to listen for the incessant chattering from the kids!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
My first husband was 5ft 8" and that was a good size for me. I come from a family of short people too. My Dad was 5ft 7".
If i went to hug my hubby i'd get half way in between his belly and his chest. If he went to hug me he'd get my head.
However it didnt stop us from procreating.
However, to me height is not important. Its the heart that counts.
Dh comes from a family of short people. He is the only one on the family taller than me, and only two of them are taller than my mother who is a shade over five feet. I don't think five seven for a man is that short, only in our perception of 'manly perfection' being tall. Of the average is five nine now then it cannot have been that long ago that it was five seven I guess.0 -
I'm just over 5'10 and LOVE wearing high heels. My favourite pair make me 6'3" and a bit, so at 5'7" you'd be around nipple height
I do love a tall man. I've always gone for 6'+ men because being so lanky, it's nice to be made to feel small! OH is 6'3 which is a nice height, even when I've got me fave shoes on!You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -
I'm not fussed about height. I'm 5'6" and had partners between 5'4" and 6".
What amuses me is the way 99% of men add a couple of inches to their height. An ex used to swear blind he was 6' and even with me saying, 'yeah? But you're only about 3 inches taller than me and I know exactly how tall I am' he'd still insist on it. I've had a couple grudgingly say that well, they definitely used to be 'X' height but maybe they've shrunk and inch or two somehow (no, they weren't old enough for that yet) :rotfl: I find it pathetic.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
I'm 5'7 and the bfs 5'9 and it does irritate me a bit because he gets all annoyed if I wear heels which make me taller than him
I come from a lanky family, mums 5'9, dad 6'1, little brother 6'4.

I'm 6'7", so it wouldn't have been easy to find a woman taller than me :rotfl:
The other half is average height, so no probs there
I did briefly date a girl who was 4'11"...that was a bit awkward. lol0 -
I've always gone for tall men and I'm 5'2"! My DH is over 6" so almost a foot height difference.
My mum is just under 5' tall but my dads side of the family are all very tall, granny is 5'8", my aunts are 5'9", 5'10" and 6', they were all horrified when I brought DH over to meet them for the first time! Couldn't believe I'd ended up with a man who was taller than them. My eldest is very tall for her age and my granny comments every time she's over that she clearly doesn't take it after me!Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
I am 5ft so most men are taller than me
I have never dated anyone under 6ft and my current partner is 6ft 60
