Money Grabbing Vet!!!

YOU really are missing the point aren't you smartsuit??
your dog is your responsibility. end of.
my point was that you don't think it's worth it to pay FIVE WHOLE POUNDS a month to make sure your responsibility is looked after and not kept in pain. you left your animal in pain by not ensuring you could help your animal by not having insurance and by refusing to pay the vet.
if you own such a great company modifying cars and your oh is a manager, then i pretty much reckon a fiver a month is worth it...
however, it seems that you don't think your animals are worth it.
so i don't feel sorry for you.
i feel sorry for your pets.0 -
Did you miss this point from the RCVS Website? 16. A veterinary surgeon or a lay member of staff accepting telephone calls must not refuse emergency veterinary attention because the caller is unable to make immediate payment for the treatment. Arrangements for payment should be discussed at an early stage, but immediate first aid and pain relief should not be delayed while financial arrangements are agreed."
I was in the unfortunate position of not having any cashflow on the day, something I am sure most people on this site have experienced a few times in thier lives. The vet that did the treatment has been paid now and everyone including the dog is happy.
The vet that refused the treatment was clearly in the wrong, but you however refuse to acknowledge that, are you the vet or a freind of his?
Maybe you dont feel sorry for me, but I certainly feel sorry for you.0 -
Slinks whats got into you
I've never seen you be so aggressive and rude on any of your posts before (not that I stalk you, just bump into you in the arms and a couple of other boards from time to time)
FWIW I think you have a good right to be annoyed smartsuit, the first vet was out of line and even if he wasn't prepared to wait a couple of days for full payment (which is his right) he should have, at the very least, given some pain relief to your dog, I'm sure the £60 you had there and then would have covered that.0 -
friend
not freind
please, it's driving me crazy thay you keep spelling such a simple word wrong
i've said my peace. i'm not in cahoots with the vet, just a concerned animal lover.
i didn't say the vet was right. if it happened to me i would be appalled. however, as someone who cares about animals, i would NEVER put my animals in that position in the first place.
perhaps you should grow up and think about the welfare of those poor animals you seem to have decided to not be worth pennies.0 -

hang on - i'm the aggressive one? am i the one who called smartsuit an a$$hole???
animals are the responsibility of their owners. full stop.
what is wrong with u people?0 -
And smartsuit has already proven how responsible for their pets they have been. As soon as their dog was injured the took the dog to a vet...even if they had had pet insurance, as has already been suggested it wouldn't have helped the situation with this particular vet.
The issue wasn't about the ability of the OP to pay, it is the unprofessionalism and bad attitude of the vet.0 -
I think that Smartsuit and Slinks are both right.
Smartsuit should not have been treated in such a manner by the original vet and Slinks is correct to say that a pet is a financial responsibility.
Peace?The man without a signature.0 -
yes, i know that, i understand that, but i am trying to highlight the fact that people should be responsible for their pets in the first place. smartsuit and oh have good jobs and more than one pet. it's their responsibility to care for their pets.
by the way looby, i've never been in the armsmistaken identity methinks.
have fun discussing this people - i've had enough of showing my care for animals here. apparently it makes me aggressive and rude... and apparently someone calling me an a$$hole for my opinion isn't...
hey ho!0 -

Maybe a couple of threads you posted on on another board ended up getting moved there (where you were born and strange people you have met, the one about your ex deciding everything by rolling a dice)0
