try this .......
go to
http://www.booksshouldbefree.com/Top_100ttp://
or
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/free-epub-books-online.htm
pick a book , then click on to open its own window.
scroll down to ebook downloads, pick .epub
and save it to your pc/laptop the desktop will do.
Connect Nook to the pc/laptop, if a window does not pop up then click my computer from start menu.
The Nook should now be shown, navigate to my files / books (it is slightly different depending on which Nook you have)
drag and drop / cut and paste your new downloaded book to this draw .....
do safely remove Nook then disconnect.....
open your Nook then go to library and the book will be there

As explained earlier in this thread (post 628):
Download and install Calibre on your PC (if you haven't already got it):
http://calibre-ebook.com/download_windows
Then download the DeDRM 'tools_v6.05.zip' from here:
http://www1.datafilehost.com/d/e290f19f
Make sure you un-tick the box that says
"Use our download manager and get recommended downloads"
Then click on the smaller grey 'Download' box (not the large black 'Download Now' box) and you will get the tools with no virus warnings (the download manager that this host site is trying to include with the tools generates a virus warning).
'Unzip' the file - lots of freeware 'un-zippers' around like 7-zip if you haven't got one i.e:
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Then it's the 'DeDRM_calibre_plugin' folder that you need - just follow the instructions in the 'DeDRM_plugin_ReadMe' document.
You can then load the kindle book into Calibre and convert it to epub
Complicated - but it works.....0 -
Hi,
I have downloaded the plugin and it seems to be installed0 -
OR Root it, install the kindle app and it will download the books to your Nook directly.Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0

I actually don't use the touch-screen facility that much on the Nook, to be honest, but it's nice to know that it's available:). Another point I forgot to mention is that I can read the Nook one-handed, using the side-buttons; I can't read the PRS300 one-handed (the later Sony models may make that possible). It's a minor point, but since the Nook is so light it feels odd to hold it in both hands.
But try out the Sony 505 first; I bought my PRS300 (secondhand) just to see if I could get used to the experience of reading on-screen for long periods.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I placed my order with Currys on 9th May and no joy. Bought from Argos and phoned Currys to cancel the order last week. One week later the order is not cancelled, Nook is not shipped and my money not refunded. I will never order anything from Currys again.0

I have just managed to order a Nook from Argos this morning, with free next day delivery, this will make a great gift.
Thanks for the post.:)0
