Has anyone still got their original nook? I bought 2 and both have died with the same problem, the front screen is stuck on the same image and the page won't turn. Not much use in an e reader!
  • I've got mine.. don't use it all too often, but it's great on holiday. I rooted it recently and its still doing ok

Have you tried these things? http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/NOOK-E-Ink-Support/Another-quot-stuck-quot-Nook-Simple/td-p/1350020

Have you tried leaving it on charge overnight. Mine did that when it was too low to power up properly. After a couple of hours on charge it started up again.

I've still got mine. Haven't used it in a while as I'm trying to read all my "proper books" and get that pile down the out to the CS. But the Nook still works. I never had any problems with it. I didn't root it though as I got a tablet for Christmas :D

Yep still on my original, use it daily for at least an hour a day. Dd went through three in a month when she first had hers though, one developed a line down the screen, one locked up completely and the third was ghosting. She's had number four since September or there abouts and that one, touch wood, is fine.
  • Received my Nook at the weekend - nice and speedy. Seems pretty nice so far - easy to set up etc. It'll save me a load of space in my suitcase next week too! Went into my local blackwells yesterday as I was thinking of getting another and they said that their website is the only retailer that is able to stock them now.

We have 4 in this house, all bought on this £29 deal.

All used daily for at least a couple of hours. All still working fine.

Don't know how we'd cope if they froze!

  • Hello! I've had a few emails lately from Blackwell's about the £29 Nook that sold out everywhere last year. They have 'limited stock' plastered everywhere so I don't know how long it will go on for.

Can't post the link but there's a big banner on the Blackwell's website.

Can't see this deal anywhere else this time, like Argos or anywhere.

I did try to get one last year but everywhere had sold out. Did anyone get one?

there's a long running thread on this on the Shop but don't drop board so I'm moving your post over there so it can be merged with the existing one.
