Any word on the update we were supposed to be getting early June? Haven't rooted as I wanted to see what the update contained.

I've searched & can't find any reference to this, WHSmiths are better for searching through the free Kobo ebooks http://www.whsmith.co.uk/eBooks/FreeeBooks.aspx it takes you direct to the Kobo website when you click to buy , but I tried to navigate the kobo site & found the smiths 1 was better for finding the free ones, warning there is some trash on there too.Booo!!!0

Hi
Just received one I bought for my daughters birthday.
I've taken it out and charged it so I can load it up (play with it! ) for her.
Can someone tell me very time I turn a page or press anything it kind of blips or slightly flashes to move onto the next page. It's really annoying.
Is that normal?
Thanks
They all do, its part of the uniqueness of an ebook reader (and the prime reason I wont be getting one just yet!) Everyone else seems to get used to it though, so maybe keep persevering?0 -
Can anyone let me know if you can search the Internet on this nook?0

The way e-ink screens work is basically when the image needs to change it needs to erase what was previously there, and it does this by writing the whole screen to black and then to white, then the new image.
It is possible to write only small parts of the screen (for example when using the keyboard, only the pressed key area is reset) but it leaves a slight ghost behind which builds up over time. Kindle users looking at web pages know this effect, eventually the whole screen turns to mush and it has to have a full refresh.Out on blue six..
