I'm very late to this deal, but managed to buy one in Sainsburys Longwater (Norwich) last night. Am planning to root it to add the Kindle app too. Very excited!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all,

I've just bought one of these for Hubby's birthday, mainly for him to use on holiday. He's always said he doesn't want an e-reader as he prefers books so if he only uses it occasionally I've not wasted too much money.

I was wondering are there any other Nook threads on the MSE forum? I tried a search but only found this and some competition threads. People posting tech help or book offers etc?

Amazon supply books in awz3 format specific to the Kindle. If you root it and install the kindle app then yes you can, otherwise buy books in epub format for ease of installing.

The simple touch doesnt come with a card

Yes sorry, I have a Nook Simple touch, it doesnt come with a card but it has 2Gb of internal memory (thats what I meant to say). It can store hundreds of books (up to 1000).

I ordered 2 of these from currys for delivery to store yesterday and just got an email saying they are ready for collection. Thankyou OP great offer.
