Nooks £29 @ Argos, Sainsburys, Currys, Very

I ordered 2 from Currys on 3rd May, finally arrived on 20th May only to find they were also running US firmware. I know there are lots of threads on Internet about how to convert the software but don't see why I should have to and I'm not that IT savvy! Took them both back and got a refund, went over to Sainsburys bought another 2 and they have UK firmware so happy bunny now

I couldn't tell you if my Nook is US or UK. I bought it from Nook themselves that's all I know lol.

Don't really care if it's US or UK anyway as I won't be buying books from the Nook itself, I'll always be using the website to do that.

4 weks ater stil waiting. Ordered 3 times on sainsurys all cancellled due to lack of stock. Walked into sainsburys and wow there they were woo hoo

My offer from Asda has just been dispatched, cynical me was waiting for a cancellation notice, like I had from Sainsbury, or Just nothing, like I got from Very. So big thumbs up for Asda from me

I missed the John Lewis offer (with 2 years guarantee) so I rang them up to see if they were getting any more stock on Thursday. CS told me they were getting more in and reserved one for me. They called me yesterday to say it was in stock and I can collect from store on Wednesday. Very pleased with service. I know its out of stock again but might be worth giving them a ring.

Now that is really sensible. I've been trying to get it from John Lewis and every time it comes in it goes out of stock before I get to them. Same with everywhere else. Their central orderline won't reserve sout of stock items. So I just rang local branch and reserved them. That makes it so much easier.

I ordered one last night from Asda (groceries rather than Asda Direct) and chose click & collect. Picked it up today no problem. DH is pleased with his surprise

This was Asda in Orbital in Swindon, in case anyone wants to try there.
