Argos are still claiming to have stock in some of their stores. You can use this site http://www.icheckstock.co.uk/ to check stock for a 100 mile radius of your postcode in the advanced search. Item number for the Nook Simple Touch is 50112760

Argh I've just checked my very account as my nook is now overdue. Next to my order it says credit refused
I have a mortgage in my name I have always kept to date with, although most other bills are in dh name. And why didn't they tell me?now I've got to try to find one elsewhere and it looks as though its not easy!

I had this same problem when I ordered a phone from them last year. I had made a typo with my credit card details and only found out over 10 days later when my order hadn't arrived. Seems a peculiar way of doing business to go to the trouble of sending an order confirmation but no notification of any payment queries/mistakes should one present itself. I was informed by customer services that this is an anti-fraud measure. Make of that what you will. Their loss.0 -
As the saying goes, the early bird...... I have spoken to a couple of Sainsburys stores and they tend to have delivery of electrical items on Saturday evening, so Sunday first thing should be a good bet. Online early hours are the best - set your alarm;)0
