I'll always use an external SD card - if the Nook breaks, you'll still have your books (since i buy mine on the Google Play store then authorise them for my Nook)
Doesn't the Play store keep track of your books, like it does apps? If so then you can always re-download them from Google.

Thank you very much everyone! Much appreciated! Ralph, I've had a look on the 'techie stuff forum lost wifi password' and nothing's coming up, you don't have a link do you? Sorry I'm absolutely useless with things like this!

Also, (apologies I'm really useless!) I've just downloaded an epub version of les mis on project guttenberg, but my computers adobe reader won't let me open it - is this normal?

Adobe Reader is for PDF format files, so it won't open epub files. You will need epub reader software, downloaded and installed onto your PC. Assuming you have a windows PC, some recommended choices are:
Calibre http://calibre-ebook.com/ - normally used to convert between different ebook formats but can also be used as an ereader, though the reading interface isn't the best IMO
Mobipocket http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/default.asp?Language=EN - actually for MOBI format ebooks but can import EPUB format ebooks no problem, and it's a very nice reader interface.
EPUBReader add-on for Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/epubreader/ - if you use the Firefox web browser, and probably the easiest way to get reading epub books
Sony Reader https://ebookstore.sony.com/download/ - I use this as I also have a Sony Reader, but I'm sure you can use it as a stand-alone ereader; very nice reader interface, too.

I assume you have had a look at the underside of the router? Many manufacturers now put the router SSID and password on the box itself.

    Yes, that's true.

I do also have some ebooks that I can't guarantee I will be able to download again

Hi there, my nooks just arrived and I've plugged it in to my laptop for it to charge. I'm just on setup and it wants me to attach to wifi, but I can't remember my wifi password. Is there a way of continuing with setup and just putting books on it with the cable? Thanks in advance. xxx

When I got my Nook I spent ages wondering what the wifi password was , then realised it was the code on the router box. Once I worked that out it was straightforward.
    Good luck, and happy reading.

This is about to become the best £29 ever spent. This is the new firmware version 1.5. I'm now going to cross my fingers that it will support Yahoo mail and Exchange server

I just read the new firmware may also include an email client ... so keeps getting better ...

sorry to have not been a little clearer :-)

I had meant for you to post a new thread asking for help

try some thing like ' I have a xxx router and have lost the wifi password , how can I find it'

as some good people have said , the password is sometimes on the underneath or in the router docs. Some routers require you to make a password.

If you really need your hand holding then feel free to PM
