thanks to the posters on this thread i now have a nook, and have one ready to give my dad for his 71st birthday! yay!!
i kept trying all of the listed sellers, and after a week i got 2 from ASDA, ordered on thursday, picked up on sunday. excellent service, they were ready from sat, and actually came in 12 hrs before the initial email suggested they would.
i have just spent half an hour downloading calibre and also the suggested plug ins... so fingers crossed i can make that work as i found Alf's blog useful but slightly confusing. got there in the end though!

Just read your post and decided that I would knuckle down and get that De-DRM plugin loaded, as I'd not beeen successful the other night when I tried.
