'Custardy', I think you missed the word max off your other wise excellent post
32gig cards will hold 16,000 books
or ,
if you read one book a day then it will last just short of 43 years to read them all :rotfl:
so people looking for chargers should be aware that the nook would need to be charged over 1000 times ( if you believe the manufacturers blurb):rotfl:
If a 32 gig card is the max, what about the ethos of this site ......... to save money !
how many people have old micro cards from old mobile phones lying round?
if you have a 16 mb card, (and yes that was mb not gb) that works out to 10 books! enough for a weekend away or a week in the sun for a 1 book a day reader! QED= :money:

Has anyone "rooted" their NST on here yet?
I'm very tempted but a little cautious of what might happen...

At least two people have...I have rooted it, its very easy once you realise that you need to switch OFF the nook, (Hold the power button for 3 sec if at the home screen/15 otherwise) it will then boot the root s/w off the sdcard and you just follow the instructions. Make a BACKUP FIRST though then if you need to you can recover it. It took me a while as I didn't realise the power button was on the back, or how to switch it off. Once rooted you can mess about with installing stuff on it.I followed the first post here to root mine, doesn't take long:

I gave up trying to root mine. Although this way works for me which ringo posted.ringo_24601 wrote: »ok guys, i just managed to get the web browser to finally work!
1. Go to the 'Settings' Menu
2. Click 'Social'
3. 'Link to Facebook, Twitter and Google'
4. Google -> Link to your account
5. 'Can't access your account?'
6. Look for 'Google home' at the bottom of the page and click it
ta, da! Google search on your Nook without any cracking/rooting
I'm on software version 1.2.1. It's also a bit rubbish, and makes me less incline to bother rooting it
It is a bit of a rubbish quality, which has convinced me not to bother trying again with the rooting business:oPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

Why would you need any more than 6 books on the nook at any one time?0
