I ordered one yesterday from Argos, free delivery, I was a bit worried as I couldnt find an order update on track my order so I rang them and its coming tomorrow. Having said that, I went to try and order one for my son, but although it didnt say OOS on the site, after I put my card details in, it said the Nook was OOS. So I managed to get one but think they may well have sold out by now.0 -
Thanks Gold Dust but I haven't got it yet, will probably pick it up on Wednesday from Waitrose - they hold JL deliveries for 7 days, so now I know it is there no great rush:D
Will undoubtedly be back on here with all kinds of questions and queries once I do get it:)Just called up my local John Lewis to see whether they had any in stock and even though they didn't, the sales rep said that they had two in stock in the warehouse. Exactly how many I wanted! So I've ordered with them now and they should be with me by Friday (free delivery). I've just cancelled my orders with currys and they didn't even try to stop me with an estimated date of delivery, just cancelled straight up, so I'm a very happy bunny as I've also saved on the price of the product cover.
From what I've read on here, JL have been good with their orders and communication, so I'm happy to have switched my order. I've got a friend who ordered on the same day as me from currys, so I can see when (if) I would have received my orders...that's if she doesn't cancel her order with them too!0 -
ok guys, i just managed to get the web browser to finally work!
1. Go to the 'Settings' Menu
2. Click 'Social'
3. 'Link to Facebook, Twitter and Google'
4. Google -> Link to your account
5. 'Can't access your account?'
6. Look for 'Google home' at the bottom of the page and click it
ta, da! Google search on your Nook without any cracking/rooting
I'm on software version 1.2.1. It's also a bit rubbish, and makes me less incline to bother rooting it0 -
Ordered one online at John Lewis for delivery, and it has arrived today'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Thanks, just had a quick try of this and got google on it - haven't tried anything else though.
I think someone else mentioned this tactic earlier on in the thread too (sorry can't remember their name).0 -

Are the download sites that people are recommending on here all 'legal' to download from? Do we need to be wary of viruses etc?0

I downloaded Calibre okay but got a 'malicious' warning when trying to download the plug-in from apprenticealf so didn't proceed.
I have trawled through the blog and cannot see the link that Elsien suggested in my earlier question about it.
Someone on hotukdeals got a virus when trying it, which is putting me off too but I need to get it somehow.
Has anyone else had any problems with this, and if not, which link did they use?
Thanks:)0 -
picked up a Griffin Nexus 7 case in HMV for 99p
doesn't actually fit the Nook in the elastic parts
but the Nook fits into the pocket on the other side
however I feel it was mislabeled as the others in the range were priced at £4.99 from £19.99

Thanks. I downloaded Calibre ok. My questions were more around the free books sites.0
