Mucho Kudos Ringo - and others - for all the input you've put into this thread, and the help to others. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
Now OOS at Asda but you can buy from Argos, free delivery atm - says OOS for home delivery but putting in my postcode allowed me to order one for delivery early next week.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

A couple more dumb questions from a complete technophobe:
1. Does it come with nice simple instructions on setting up? yes,but not many needed really.pretty simple machine
2. Can it be used as an entirely separate entity to my PC - i.e. just plugged into the router on its own for downloading books without the PC even having to be on? yes
2. Do you have to register you credit card details on the Nook site, even if you only want to register your Nook and get a few free books?yes you will
Many thanks for your patience:)

I've got one coming from Argos on Monday. All OOS at stores near me but available for free home delivery to my work address in London. I've also popped into Argos as I was walking past and tried the catalogue number in the self serve machine. It said that they have over 1000 in stock so they're out there somewhere!0 -
Just ordered one from Argos (As Better Days said, it initially says it's out of stock but if you choose to reserve, the "home delivery" option becomes available on the next screen. Hopefully mine will arrive Tuesday! (Probably at the same time the one from Currys finally turns up knowing my luck...)0

This has been a PR disaster. B & N reduced the cost to increase presence in the UK and underestimated demand. Ultimately, all being well we all take delivery of our orders but the organisation has been lousy!0

I've just cancelled mine from Currys after picking up the one this afternoon I ordered from Asda direct yesterday. Let Currys know that I wasn't very impressed with the delays after it was meant to be delivered during the week and they didn't even let you know it wouldn't be getting delivered, I found on reading online!0

I did this as well yesterday evening. Just waiting on tenterhooks for the confirmation email saying it is ready for collection at Waitrose:eek:
They must have sold out again really fast.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0
