Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
A couple more dumb questions from a complete technophobe:

    1. Does it come with nice simple instructions on setting up?

    2. Can it be used as an entirely separate entity to my PC - i.e. just plugged into the router on its own for downloading books without the PC even having to be on?

    2. Do you have to register you credit card details on the Nook site, even if you only want to register your Nook and get a few free books?

    Many thanks for your patience:)
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

And what did he say when you said that the site gave you a date for when they'd come back into stock? Are we just supposed to overlook that? I could have made my order with anyone and waited for them to get it back in stock, but I made it with currys because they gave me a date. Talk about misleading! They'd better hurry up

I had a date and then a day later after I ordered it changed to basically "you'll get it when we've got some but we can't say when". Wish I'd of gone to JL as they had them in stock yesterday but thought that Currys would fulfil my order. And they've got my money

I can't help you with numbers 1 & 3 melbury as I am currently nook-less, but you won't need your PC if you use it as God intended :p I.e just downloading from the Barnes and noble website. I don't believe it comes with a port (socket) for connecting it to the router with a cable, but it should work with your router wirelessly. So you shouldn't need any cables to connect it to the Internet.

That's exactly what's annoying me too! How is it that other stores are getting more stock in, whilst these lot are getting nada? I don't want to cancel my order as I don't have a chance of getting one over the counter now, especially in London.

Third post in a row :o how do you check if they're in store from their website? I want to check my local store, but the site isn't loading properly on my phone. Do I have to have an account with them just to check?

Currys told me over the phone so not sure if you can do it online. Might be worth a phone call to see if they have any near you :)

Thanks for your help anyway, fellow Londoner! I need to just relax and let whatever's going to happen, happen. Que sera, sera!
