Made up with my nook. Easy to navigate and like the book and page you are up to reading comes up on the home page. Very lightweight and easy to change pages. Read in bright sunshine today, no glare.

Not as good a selection of books as the kindle but went into the Nook £2.99 and under section and they seem to have price matched a couple of decent books starting at £0.59

Bought a zip around case from ebay for £6.99

OK I'm going to ask the silly question.................... how do I get the books I have downloaded from Amazon into the Calibre thingy. The books aren't moving over for all the love and money in the world :(

Post 262 tells you how to do it. You have to download a plug in for Calibre. :D

Just did the plug in and have downloaded some free books successfully. Took a couple of attempts due to the "your computer will explode" type dire warnings from Kaspersky when I first tried to download it, but if I can do it anyone can!
    Thanks aliasojo, much appreciated.

Have you downloaded 'Kindle for pc'?

If so, there will be a 'My Kindle Content' folder. Mine is in 'My Documents'.

This is full of your Kindle books.

Open Calibre and click on 'Add Books' (add books from a single directory), then navigate to the Kindle Content folder.

If you change the file type to mobi, it only shows the books and not the bumph.

Now this is where my knowledge falls down......I don't yet know how to get the books to show by name so I search by date downloaded.

Select the book and click open. If it shows up in Calibre all is well.

If you haven't got the plug in yet, you wont be able to put the Kindle books in Calibre.

Edit: See other posts for apprentice alf's plug-in link.

Bum. I wish I'd gone and not just phoned. I bet they never looked properly. :D

    I'd quite like a butterfly one. :D

I've thought of another Nook v's Kindle thing......sometimes on the Kindle (when I'm having a senior moment :o) I'll accidentally close the book I'm reading....and I've forgotten what it's called so I can't find it to open it again. :rotfl:

The Nook has a 'reading now' thing on the home screen which reminds you what you're reading. Useful for [STRIKE]old[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]forgetful[/STRIKE], peeps like me. :D
