Anyway, she decided to start it up and got as far as the terms and conditions screen. Every time she presses agree it goes to a screen that says you have to agree to the conditions before you proceed. There is no options on that screen, just the agree button on the previous screen which then keeps taking us to this one.
Does anyone have any ideas?
scroll back to the top of the screen(use the side buttons, its quicker)
she missed a tick box at the top of the T&Cs0 -
Thank you custardy and Fila, you were indeed correct. Panic over!0

Think I am pretty dense, as struggling a little!
Downloaded calibre. Haven't got a clue how to use it, but its there!
Then tried to "Borrow" an ebook from our local library, as thats a free online service. I had to download Adobe Digital Editions 2 to be able to do this. Now anything I find online, not just library books seem to be going into the adobe thing rather than the calibre thing! :rotfl:
I managed to figure out how to get the library books from adobe onto the nook (took me a while but got there in the end!).
Am I the only person who finds all this confusing?0 -
The free books I've tried to download from Amazon are all DRM'd. Does anyone know of a site that has more recent free/cheap books that Calibre will be able to convert? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I too have given in and bought one and now I'm looking at cases..all the ones I can find are for nook 2, is this what I have on order lol? I really can't work it out! If not, does anyone know if the nook 2 case will fit this nook?0
-
@debbie....yes, it's the Nook 2 so the case will fit.
@elsien....honestly it's easy to download and use the plug in for calibre so you can read kindle books on the Nook. Why not set aside a wee while to read through Apprentice Alf's stuff?

I've bought a case for a kindle 4 hoping it'll fit, made sure it was one with elastic corners so shouldn't be too far out, as trendz make a case for the nook which also fits kindle 4 and the kobo0

Dont know if anyone has mentioned, if you spend over £60 with Very and open new credit account, enter a code ( dont think im allowed to post here but its on vouchercodes website ) you can get £30 refunded to your payment card, so 2 nooks & some crayons, new account opened, paid by cc, cost £64 including delivery chg - £30 refunded to card +£34 for 2 nooksBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0

I've downloaded calibre, but its saying the books I'm looking at are drm and it won't convert them. Do I need to hunt for boks that aren't drm, and how do I do that? (Maybe I'm looking at the wrong books.)
Edit- just had a quick look and will have a proper play tomorrow. Thanks for the link. Pretty sure I'll be back with more questions though - my head hurts and I haven't tried to do anything yet. Oh to be technically minded. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
