I'm getting the feel they might be like Studio cards I had an account with many years back.

If I get one it will be via the account for the discount - but not sure yet, really wary of giving so much info sometimes to get accounts.

Thanks for the tip about the collect service - I did look but nothing that local that I can get to easily as I don't drive - most would take me about 40 minutes to walk to and back from or £4 in bus fares! Unless I can get someone to pick it up for me or I could always do with the exercise I guess!
You cant do collect service, if you just open accredit account. They will do home delivery for you.

I'm not sure if my order will even be fulfilled as pc world states it will be shipped 9/5/13. Can't see it happening but tried all other stores near me and nothing available. Will have to keep fingers crossed!! :/

So (save me reading all the thread) if I order one from Very to get the treats and the discount £15 off over £25 - do I need to open a Very account or can I just pay by card? I'd rather not have an account with them as I don't know anything about them but they seem ok!

I do have a basic Kindle but like the idea of library loans and being able to use this for web surfing off wifi when I go to Germany in July to save taking the iPad.

I take it the codes get entered at payment stage as I've got as far as registering on Very but not got further yet until I find out what the best option is.

    Thanks for replies in advance.

You have to open a credit account to get the £15 discount, I tried without and the code didn't work. However you can pay straight away with your card rather than out o your credit. So whatever the amount of "credit" they give you will be available spend in full. Ie if they give you £500 credit it will show you still have £500 to spend. However if you do pay with the credit go with he 3 payments a its intrest fre!! They are fine, my mother in law has an account with them and she doesn't get bombarded, but she does get the odd flyer or email with discount codes/sales etc. They are part of he "shop direct group" so littlewoods is under that too. Iv had a littlewoods for years and never had any problems, infact after opening the very account I rang littlewoods and shut my account over the phone as had a huge amount of credit I will never spend and been meaning to do it for a while.
I didn't get he treats as didn't know how but went through a Cash back site instead! :)
    Eagerly awaiting for it now!!
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got... :p

Mine was up and working in 15-20 mins.. i guess it might depend on your power supply

If you want to make the battery last a lot longer - turn off wifi. It's crazy battery life - i spent about an hour reading, and it only used 1% of the battery in that time

    ours took ages
    thought it was DOA
I ended up putting ours on the mains charger rather than the PC USB

Thanks again sounds ok, just wondering how much I'd use it as I do have a basic kindle but if I can get basic Internet via wifi on a Nook and get the Nook for about £17 then that is a very good deal:)

I was thinking I'd have to take an old iPod touch to Berlin to use on the wifi and that's not that easy on the eyes for web browsing!

Not to be rude, but if you already have a Kindle, and iPod touch, and and iPad why are you buying this for yourself? You are saying you want to use the browser abroad ad you can't do that on the kindle and it's too small on the iPod touch, then why not just use the iPad considering you can do that and read a book and loads more on it?? Seems to me just a waste of money and another thing to clog up the house by buying this, and don't see why you want to waste your money, aswell as have the worry you obviously have about opening the account with Very. If I was that worried about using Very, and I really wanted the Nook, I'd buy it from somewhere else. The only reason I didn't order my Nooks from Very was because I didn't know about the offer at the time and had already placed my orders elsewhere.
And I had only ordered this for the price of £29 because I have been umming and ahhing about e-readers for a long time now and when I saw that price decided to give it a go. The browser bit is just a bonus, and again din't know about it untill after I placed my order.
If I had any of what you have I certainly wouldn't be buying a Nook, I'd be happy enough with an iPod touch, or an iPad as they both do everything and more. I just don't have that kind of money to be able to afford either of those.
As I say, I don't mean to be rude or cause any offence, but I just don't understand why you are worrying yourself about opening a credit account, for something you really wouldn't need:huh:

I was the same with PC World and didn't know if my order would be cancelled or not, which is why I ordered from Nook themselves. Couldn't have ordered from 2 worse people! as they have no idea whatsoever about Customer Service at all! Cancelled 3 times with PC World after having no more contact from them after my 1st order, and got a dispatch email yesterday telling me that my Nook is on the way:mad: So don't be too surprised when the email arrives :rotfl:

    Hi no offence taken:)
I do have an iPad but I'd not want to risk taking that abroad on holiday, I treated myself to that with an additional payment I had for covering some teaching hours at work when a colleague was off. I only use that at home as its on my house insurance and I'd not want to take it abroad with me. My iPod touch is well over 6 years old now and is just about still working but not for much longer I don't think. If I got a Nook and liked it I'd look to eBay my basic kindle, I'd like to be able to access using the library hire service side which I could do with a Nook but not my kindle. For £17.95 I could justify the spend for this.

But yes maybe I should just use the iPod touch or phone on the wifi when away on holiday -it's not as if I'll be online a lot whilst on holiday!

Thanks for the info on Very folks, useful to know. I'm wary as I've had my cards 'done' twice so that does make you nervous shopping online and with who you give your details to I guess.

Thank you for posting this

After a bit of searching on line, hubby ringing Currys - who had 500 delivered to the warehouse last night and at around 12noon had 400 but none in store. We rung a few sainsburys and the one in Cardiff - Colchester Avenue, had a delivery last night and had stock, which isnt to far from us.
Just about to unpack mine :D

    Thanks again

Fair enough then lol. No need to explain your reasons for what you own though lol none of my business at all :) I personally don't think of insurance etc when I take my stuff abroad, I use the safe's and the boxes for my valuables. Plus it's covered on my travel insurance if I did need it. Saying that I only have an iPod or the DS myself , I don't take my laptop away with me and use my BB for the internet and stuff, which is always with me or in the safe also :) I don't know much about this borrowing from the library stuff etc, I'm all newly fangled with this and haven't received mine yet, but if I were you and in your position, I'd order from Very, pay straight away then close my account as soon as I could :)
If you don't order from them and decide to order elsewhere, don't order from Nook or PC World from my experiences this week lol

I have an account with Very (and have ordered my Nook from them, due for delivery 15/5) but I always just pay my balance in full when the statement arrives.
I do get occasional offers by post and the odd e-mail but you can unsubscribe.
I hadn't ordered anything for ages and recently got a voucher in the post for £20 off a spend over £50 which I have used for my
Nook, along with a new duvet which I needed.
