OK...I've given in.
After reading all the +ve reviews I had to buy it.
The £15 Very code was the final clincher.
£17.95 for a decent e-reader delivered to your door is nothing to grumble at.
Look forward to receiving mine now.

I take back all my praises for Very lol. I ordered mine the other day and asked for it to be delivered to a different address as I'm "house/dog sitting for two weeks" iv rang today as it says on my account "estimated delivery" 15th, well I'm back home on the 12th so I rang very to see if I could get the delivery address changed back to my billing (actual address) - not a big deal i they couldn't. But they have just advised me my order has been automatically canceled BECAUSE I asked go it to be sent to another address in the first place. Bah! Customer service lady said It would all hve to be put back through manually Tuesday as its another departments job
I can imagine it being a tie pain especially with the discount code! Wish it had said can only send to account holders address for security etcIf you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...0 -
I plan to use mine just for sideloading books from my PC (i.e. not buying books online), so ideally I'd rather not have to have an account with B and N, which I'd never use.
However, it seems you have to go through the registering-with-B&N process in order to get the Nook up and running. Is there a way of skipping all the registering/setting up the account stuff? It's particularly important as I was hoping to give one as a gift to an older relative who doesn't have internet access. But it would really take the shine off things if he had to have an account instead of (as I'd intended) just having books which I've downloaded for him on an SD card. I want to keep it as simple as possible, otherwise it'll just be too daunting!
Any tips for how I can just set it up for sideloading without an account? Or is this not possible? Huge thanks in advance for any advice offered.0 -

So seems a bit hit and miss when they will arrive. :eek:Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0 -
Sigh. The Very offer had me, £17.95 is indeed nothing to grumble at. Husband bought one from Nook direct. I might actually leave the iPad at home when we go on holiday and say goodbye to emails for a week thanks to having a Nook.0

I almost ordered a Nook from Very after reading all your posts. However, just before the final stage..,.I read the rules and conditions and the discount doesn'y apply to ereaders, tablets etc... Hate to rain on everyone's parade but...:(0

Well the discount has been applied to my account, so maybe they don't count this as one ;-)Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0

They seem to be out of stock everywhere at the moment.
I am wondering if Amazon will fight back and suddenly do a big reduction on the Kindle - what do you think?;)Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Can anyone help? Charged Nook up, although it hadn't been on charge that long. Told daughter to leave it but she couldn't help herself - grrrrrrr.
Anyway, she decided to start it up and got as far as the terms and conditions screen. Every time she presses agree it goes to a screen that says you have to agree to the conditions before you proceed. There is no options on that screen, just the agree button on the previous screen which then keeps taking us to this one.
Does anyone have any ideas?0
