    Got my renewal today.

I rang and did it and was told not to call back before 13 July. So mine maybe straight forward if they've said 6 weeks.

I renewed 6 weeks ago maybe little longer, when I spoke to the lady in compliance on Thursday I stressed that I needed it sorted cause i know I've been overpaid on my tax credits by couple hundrered so while they delay I'm being over paid and she said she will pass it on to the person who's work load it is. They took 12 weeks last year and it went compliance team then but don't know what for. I assume to ce

I've still not had my renewal pack, my income last year was about £3k more than I estimated (they used an estimate as changed from joint to single claim, plus maternity leave in previous tax yr). Will this cause a problem?
I had a childcare compliance check in January, they shouldn't need to do this again so soon, should they?
My payments did drop in April, which was noted on my award letter last summer (presume as my eldest starts school in sept?) - I'm not sure how they came to that figure, but I think it's still too high.
Having said that, it probably makes sense to have the bigger payments now while I have 2 in nursery, they might tail off to almost nothing by September but then I'll only have 1 plus after school.
Are they doing lots more compliance checks? Why does this year seem to have a lot of delays for a lot of people?

  • 7 weeks since renewal, all now finalised, as I got a underpayment lump sum in my account today, called up to confirm all was ok, and got told last years award was finalised on Friday and new award for this year done. Payments have gone up slightly as well. Just waiting for the awards in the post now!

We had 2 payments in today that are almost the same as our usual weekly WTC and CTC that went in yesterday as usual. But I know we have been underpaid by a lot more so am hoping that lump sum comes in very soon <praying to every available deity> as we need it for deposit etc on new house lol

Have to look at previous years income to this years. If the drop is 2.5k or less they will ignore. If more, only counted after taking the 2.5k drop away. It's disgusting. I'm interested to see how they work yours out.

Had your income dropped by more than 2.5k?

Yes, my income had dropped by more than 2.5k. I was working full time last year, and up until August this year, with the childcare element, before I went back into education in September. So huge financial changes.
