Just a quick update today. Not had a SFD but I think I'm allowed as we lost our step-grandad yesterday. At least he isn't suffering anymore.

On a positive note hoping for a SFD tomorrow & am holding off on food shopping until the weekend. I've also put away a lot more to savings this payday so have already reached a few of my saving goals.

Kat, don't work too hard & definitely have a treat tomorrow

    WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!

It's PAYDAY!!!! I have absolutely NOTHING to look forward to as it's all accounted for but I don't care.. I get to transfer money to my loan today and watch it drop below £7000!! Whoop whoop!!!:T:T:T

HOWEVER... hands up who is grateful to see the back of this month!!! :rotfl:

Sorry I didn't check in with you all last night. It generally is a case of getting home to wash the day's grime off and hit the hay with the moggy. No energy for staring at a computer screen having done it for 12 hours already...

BUT... the most important thing today that has made me EXTREMELY happy is that Mummy NSK ( who I know has joined MSE and is lurking over all my threads ) offered to send me ( old skool stylee in the post ) a crisp £10 which will cover a MAAAA - HOOSIVE breakfast at work this morning!!! I am so excited you have no idea..

So without much furth ado I shall be having a thick slice of WHITE toast with melted cheese on top with a soft poached egg ontop of that... 3 hash browns to create a barrier to the beans that will be added (with a little vinegar on them - yes I am disgusting) along with 2 tomatoe halves (yes they are sold seperatly) ..I am simple vegetarian in my breakfast tastes (Siouxise I know you are gonna go mad but the sausages are those horrid vegetable ones that come out soggy so I don't bother)... and at the work subsidised canteen its cheaper than the cafe they all go to... SO I picked up a massive 1 litre of orange juice and a red bull to see me through the day as well...... :T:T:T:T:T

On another glorious note I have charmed a boy in the office into bringing me 1 glorious babybel .. I don't buy them any more as they are trash cheese, but I used to eat them a lot at Uni and he was munching on them yesterday.. low and behold there was one handed to me this morning that has been gobbled already.. so cool just to peel the little blighter! Honestly can this day get any better...:rotfl:

So - I shall not be touching my pay until Monday - anyone else? I shall be transferring £1000 into my Halifax account and back out again in order to qualify for the £5 per month - although my bank ballsed up and the DD's that are required may not be set up - meaning I lose a £5er... £1000 will then be transferred into my Nationwide account and back out again in order to qualify for the 5% interest rates on any savings I throw in there... Simples!

£50 for my June food shall be taken out but I am going to survivie this weekend on what's left in my fridge which is more than enough... who else is going for serious frugality in June apart from me and my partner in crime Siousxie..?..

Right the canteen is open in 3 minutes.. I'm off to stuff my face! SFD target reached but I swear I didn't spend on 9 days of this month so I have clearly lost track somewhere.. it was hard.. but I think I am starting to like the minimalism / planning and restrictions I have placed on myself... I feel good. Tired but good!

    Onwards and Upwards!!!!

    Me!!!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I'm a bit like you nsk - just checked my bank balance, and I've been paid. And in spite of it all being accounted for elsewhere, I'm thrilled to see some £ in there. I really hope that you've enjoyed your breakfast as well.

I've told dd I'm taking her for ice cream today and she's absolutely thrilled. The sun has even come out for us so that's a nice way to blow our leftover £7.

I also have almost £40 left from the food budget this month :D:D:D:D. So I will be dropping the food budget for June, but I absolutely refuse to spend less on food in a month than I do on fuel so can only drop it so much.

Have a lovely day all, I intend to.

Well done NSK mummy! Every girl deserves a treat especially one who is working hard!

I have been paid today too and also feel relief and excitement for the sight if £££'s! I have to move some of it to my mortgage account as everyday I don't I am charged interest on the small overdraft I have.

Will sort my budget out today and set as tight as I can....must do new freezer inventory as I know I have quite a bit in there. Madam two yogurts really sulking about lack of treats in house but does not seem to see the correlation between eating four packets of crisps, two yogurts, and half a packet of biscuits to those things running out and not being replaced until they should have lasted! So frustrating, we keep arguing and I have started to feel her helping herself is just plain disrespectful! She even defrosted a packet of bacon the other day to have for lunch - which I know sounds petty but it was for spaghetti on my meal plan. She just has got it into her head that she doesn't have to ask, then I get cross and ultimately feel disrespected and hurt. She moans no sweet stuff but eats it in two days and all the eggs so can't bake. Refuses breakfast then wants to snack all day, have a lunch that's fit for dinner and dinner with dessert. I feed my kids well with plenty but she is just taking the Michael. Rant over, just no where else to vent it! And become much worse this month especially as my sister came down and bought tons of snacks and always does like its normal to have four types of chocolate in the house?!

Apologies but really getting me down and messes with my budget as well as causes a constant struggle :(

Angel.. don't apologise. Have you though of sitting her at a computer, telling her how many meals she needs to create and giving her a budget to build a basket on MySupermarket... see how well she does... Maybe sit with her as her foodage combinations might only stretch to bacon and crips...

I can see how this is frustrating for you - maybe your sister needs to be forewarned that you are attempting to teach a life lesson and to tow the line for the next few visits...

I have a friend who's baby get's no sweet stuff, snacks on kiwi's and blueberries when she can get them and there is no way I would over ride that and give him something she doesn't approve of. I am sure your sister wants to be nice and the "cool aunt" but it's unfair if it's breaking what you are attempting to fix with the way MTY eats!

I feel your pain.. I really do.. I know how it feels when the slightest thing upsets my budget so I can only imagine how this constant hunger monster upsets you...

What the game plan? Remind me how old she is...?

Woohoo for payday treats! Your mum-sponsored brekkie sounded lush NSK

Might not get mine though. Got paid. Paid 400 off the CC and paid 230 into savings and 30 into LTS (long term savings, explain in the SPARTA thread later). But OH wants to go with me when I buy DS his wee wedding outfit so we'll go tomorrow rather than just me at lunch today. So that means I don't NEED to spend money today and won't need to go into town at lunch. But that also means I don't actually have money in my wallet and it's too far to the cash machine. So might bank another SFD to end the month on a high with 5 SFDs in a row. Might yet spoil that SFD and buy a cider on way home :p
