Big hugs for Matt - hope you are ok.
Well have had quite a good day, daughter 2 came to visit with my grandkiddies, got lots of cuddles from newest one, who's nearly 4 weeks nowDaughter 1 went shopping for me as i ran out of basic stuff, milk bread etc. Got some freebies through post today, Dishwasher tablets and Cat food sample. Also i have earned £9.70 on a survey site this week, not much but it all counts. Hopefully i,ll have a SFD tomorrow. Anyway i'm so tired now and off to bed. Nite folks.
Total debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!0 -
Morning Chickadees - all a bustle this morning at work as the impending office move looms ever so near.. time to pack up.. hope for a good desk and make sure no one steals my desk lamp!
How are we all today? There is officically 11 days left in the month not including today? ..Phew this month is dragging on a little don't you think...?
Today is another SFD for moi.. need to update sig for yesterday I think.. I should leave it for a specific time of the say cause I keep forgetting whether I have done it or not!
Lunch is prepared... stocks cupboards running low. Bread made in the new machine last night which clearly didn't have enough yeast but I still ate in. Burnt my lemon drizzle cake but it's still yumm and will keep me going until the end of the week I think...
Still working on my store cupboard stash.. Does having a spreadsheet of food and whats left make me a little obsessed?..
CCL - £9.70 on a survey site is excellent! Give yourself credit there!!
Right ... must dash. Need more tea for "strike things off the food list" time...:rotfl::rotfl:“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I give up for this month and just lurk now
. This month's been awful with birthdays, upcoming weddings, other unexpected spends etc etc. I will regroup and rejoin again next month but keep lurking and reading. But I will start plotting and scheming to see what and how I can change things to the better and rescue things while doing damage limitation for the rest of the month. That includes a declutter and stock taking of food and other things.
Only positive (although waayyy too late) is that hubby has now realised why I wasn't too happy (understatement of the month) about his birthday lunch out, i.e. taking now 13 people incl. us to a Michelin star restaurant for lunch and paying for it. !!!!!! honestly  what was he thinking, at least he feels bad about it now, still want him to enjoy it otherwise it's even worse spending that money. But afterwards it'll be beans on toast for him for a month that'll teach him.
Someone mentioned the C word in my office . Better start making lists of presents etc to keep that in check this year.
EDIT. Someone just brought in excess plant seedling in to work so I got a tomatillo (??) and a squashflower for free :TDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

No, not at all, there's a few people who have a spreadsheet over on old style.
I believe I'll commit to no spending days for the rest of the month; for various reasons, March and April were months of less pay and high expenses. Today and Saturday have expenses attached or jolly jaunts booked:D I know one day this month or next month will involve paying my accountant as well as paying out for an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate). The money for the EPC will be refunded though...
And I'll join you in June for a thorough sort out.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hi all.
Just a quick log in from Wales. Trying to stay MSE. Saturday I spent £1.50 on parking and £2 on leccy meter in the cottage. Yesterday was a bit of a spendy day. It was so sunny, unexpectedly, I bought some sunglasses for £29, £24 on lunch out, £5 on butty bits and £2 on parking. Today we've packed a huge picnic so expenses should only be parking and maybe an ice cream if the sun comes out. Going to try n catch up on thread on my phone now x0 -
Hello All! Sorry to have been AWOL for a few days. I was in York for a sort of hen weekend, although it was just four of us, and low key. Tea in Betty's and HM pizza with Eurovision :rotfl: Did spend quite a lot on food out, but was expected.
I was a little naughty though . . . I bought a new dress to go to the wedding in July, and will probably wear it again for another in September. Not a planned spend but quite MSE: £49 reduced from £160 for having a button missing! Went off to Duttons and found a new button to replace (not a match but a contrast one, thought I'd make a feature of it Paul Smith style). Just need to sort out accessories from own wardrobe now, so will be all sorted!
And I made £80 on eBay this month so almost compensates . . . well since that was meant to go on CC, not really, but at least not worse off.
Need to rack up the SFDs for the rest of the month though . . .
Congratulations for PPI claims and loans seen off, and hugs to those that need it.
Not a SFD today, need to do a little shop and go to the dry cleaners . . .NinjaSavingKat wrote: »Bread made in the new machine last night which clearly didn't have enough yeast but I still ate in.
My breadmaker (hand me down leaving gift from old housemate) is in storage at the momentbut always used to find a little more yeast was always a good idea. 1 tsp instead of 3/4 kind of thing. Also if yours has a timer I used to love putting it on overnight, then waking up to fresh bread smell is lovely. Take it out as soon as you're up and it's cooled enough for breakfast and sandwiches by the time you're washed and dressed

Well my wondrous temporary crown has dislodged. So much for lasting two weeks. Trundled off to the hospital to see what might happen - told they would only be able to see me after 1345 ( I was there at 1130 ) and they weren't sure how long after... so I left. Messaged the people responsible for it and will pop back early morning tomorrow ror Wednesday to see what can be done.... superglue anyone..?
Otherwise I am meal planning for June - not sure whether to add it in for the challenge. Depends on how hard core folk want to be in the run up to the big "C"...it's only 218 days, 1 hours, 34 minutes and counting....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I guess meal planning would be a good addition to the next challenge but maybe not 30 days, I ight just do the weekdays and keep the weekends open as they're harder to plan whereas during the week hubby just asks what's for tea and I tell him.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Oh dear, I'd sit in my PJs til lunchtime eating hot yummy bread with proper butter and jam or peanut butter or.....THIS is why I cant get a breadmaker!!! Sounds wonderful
My friend came to visit last night and we spoke about food the whole night! I was showing her a smoothie that I often have for breakfast and we put it in the freezer and made ice cream - we were so happy!! We looked at recipes for breakfast muffins but decided I need a food processor - is that what you bakers think? I only have a hand held blender as I don't do any baking (see above comment re bread to see why! My internal portion control switch doesn't work very well!). We decided to try out the muffins next time she comes to stay (safer, as I've instructed her to make sure I only have one and the rest go in the freezer). So, my question would have to be do I need a food processor? I have plenty of Amazon vouchers plus I could look on ebay or freecycle and hopefully pick one up for next to nothing.
Spend wise, I shouldn't have to spend at all over the next few days, although the banana used in last night's smoothie/ice cream experiment came from Wednesday's breakfast (oh yeah, I'm a planner!!) so I may have to improvise, or get my purse out and buy another one. I also need to post a few ebay items, but that's not my money so I don't count it. I made a whopping £10 last night on ebay...small amount, but it all helps!0 -
Hand blender would do the job Siouxsie.. You won't need a food processer for muffins if that's all you need it for to bind cakes / cakey recipes..etc..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
