    Massive hugs Crazycatlady xxxxxx

I got petrol today - £30.20 paid not on my CC but with my debit card.

I am going away for the bank holiday for a birthday and got loads to organise.

I shall go start my spend diary and this goals exercise. I have to write down my goals each day.....we shall see!

have a good weekend folks xx

Well I started off well but..........
I went away for the weekend, budgeted for but did overspend.

Kinda blown my 1000 off the debt out of the water somewhat!

We shall see what the damage is....

Hope everyone at least enjoyed the weather or have incredibly clean houses now!

The weekend away was it turned out massively important to the rest of my life!

I decided to hand in my notice. I am walking out of a very well paid job that would have seen the end of my debt. However I have had recurring migraines and sickness for the last two years caused by stress and depression brought on from working in a very nasty environment. The week has been very difficult telling people, my friends have been amazing, so supportive.

SO. I am skint. I have 4 pay cheques left and need to save an emergency fund to cover myself till Christmas and oh I need a new job.

So my revised position is this,

    get settlement figure for loan.
    Check CC balance.
balance transfer some of the loan on to my 0% cc. I might manage all of it.

I am not doing very well regarding the challenge but as far as my life goes it is pretty good. scary but good scary.

    xx

Buffy - what a shocking, amazing, thrilling new life is ahead of you. I think as much as debt repayment is you need to think about your health and wellbeing. If you have been this depressed at your job and it was making you this ill you needed to leave. 4 months paydays ahead of you is GREAT.. you can still get budgeting but may I suggest once you have completely finished you need to have a few days off to rest... or weeks... Keep us posted. I want to know where this goes and what pans out ahead for you... don't worry about the challenge you may be exempt if you want to be but please keep checking in with you...

I am still at my friends house and we are eating eating and eating some more in front of a recording of BGT and it's a successful SFD for me thank you very much...

    What horrid weather though....

LAGL I am loving your letter suggestion!!! Keep going, keep going, keep going and get every penny that they owe you..and you Siouxsie although they need to realise what they are up against with you two...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:..

Hummingbird - HELLO! Welcome to our wee challenge, hang around, lurk, see what you make of us and whether it's up your street (although well done for reading through everything).. and please please join in for June!!...

Right...Sorry folks but Simon Cowell is being nasty so I gotta pay close attention so I can boo at the screen...

    Onwards and Upwards..

  • Grrrr. Just wrote a post and lost it.

    Summary

    1. I borrowed 7000 pounds to pay for

    Masters - due now
Car - ???? needed as my lovely car is on his last legs. Oh I love him tho.
Garden - being done in May.
Dentist/private medical stuff. - decided to NHS it for the most part.

    2. Current debt stands at £5592

    3. June's payment will be £500.

    4. Balance transfer= £4167.

    5. Amount of loan left will be £1592 (£167= bt fee)

    6. Now I could pay it off with some of the money left from not paying for the medical stuff. It is the logical thing to do. It would mean I would have a debt of around 4000. Lose me the option of paying for private treatment tho.

I do have other CCs with BT or 0% deals.

so will continue to think out loud.

    thoughts welcome.

  • Wow Buffy that's really brave of you to make such a huge decision. I have suffered terribly with work related stress in the past - touch wood I seem to be over the worst of it, but there are at least half a dozen of my colleagues off long term with stress related stuff. I admire your courage to put yourself and your health first, and I wish you lots of luck in finding yourself a new job.
I was hoping for another sfd today but have remembered that it's grocery shopping day. Hoping to stay really well under the £50 mark as we don't need too much and I am dieting hard at the moment (so no sneaky chocolate or crisps in the trolley). Hubby is doing well at getting on board with the budgeting. He's taking packed lunch every day to work, and has reduced his alcohol spends too. Him and the little fella are off to football today for the final home game of the season. Very MSE as well because I got the tickets free from work.
Have a friend coming to visit later - one of my aforementioned colleagues who has been off work for the past 8 weeks with stress (and some people still think that teachers have it easy). It will be great to catch up and see how they're getting on.
Hoping the nice weather will last (always optimistic).
    Have a good day all

Morning everyone, this is a quick check-in on my way to the allotment so I'll have a proper catch up with your posts when I'm on laptop later. Hope you are all having a good weekend so far.

A small spends day yesterday. Was on a free full day organic gardening course and headed to B&Q afterwards for more shallots and flowering bulbs. All less than half price so only 50p a bag. Hoping for a SFD today as more gardening and no shopping.

Homemade pizza last night from cupboard/fridge contents. Need to get organised for eBay listings tonight.

Morning Chickadees... sun is trying to come out here but it's supremely windy and rather chilly!! I am trying to force myself to get ready for the gym - I know full well I have to go so there ain't no need hanging around at home... with !!!!!-cat... and tea and my new diary...ho hum!

Friend has suggested we meet for coffee but as he DOESN'T KNOW THE RULES so having suggested he comes to my new house for free coffee ( that will be the sample of filter coffee I got in the post months ago ) and I will be on the tea he has agreed... might stretch to making some muffins as well.... after the gym...lol!!

Right enough I have to go... more later....

Finally! Couldn't get in to the forum as it wouldn't accept my password. So frustrating... Managed to reset today so plan to update when I get the laptop access later. Been good in bouncy world. On 4th sfd today, budgets not going too bad - although forgot about car tax, thankfully set up my annual bill account last month so it's covered from there.

Will post later when kids are in bed. You all seem to be well although I see some are a bid fed up. Apparently there is a post bank hol slump in mood - the weather doesn't help!!
