Hi all, I am reading but nothing much to report. Working lots at the moment and teenage angst in with the mix so need to check my spends as have neglected to write in spends diary :(

Enjoying the updates though so keep it up. And sorry, Kat will get my vocal on and join in a bit more :)

Sorry I've been so quiet. My ongoing problem with my intermittent internet service from the 'brilliant' BT turned into a 'no service at all problem'. Bit too busy at work to check in, but here I am now (sorry to desert you Kat).
Quiet week spend wise. Had my planned night out with my friend Sunday, and otherwise have managed to hang onto my pennies this week. Grocery shopping tomorrow, and we really, really shouldn't need much at all. One bonus of being rushed off your feet at work is that you manage to not find any time to spend any money.

Well I have been spending like a spendy thing this week. My new total are below.

    Slimming world £4.95/£20
    Food £49.50/£100
    Outings £43.65/£100
    Anti Virus £20/£20
    General spends £23.90/£30
    Petrol £30/£50
    NSD 1/22

I am back to work on Monday and no-one covers my stuff whilst I am not there so I will not have time to leave my desk, so hopefully I will get a few SFDs in.

I bought a hair dye in £land yesterday and it is really good. I can't remember the name of it, but it wasn't a well know brand. Today my hair is soft and shiny, which is not the case when I use my usual brand. Just a tip :D

  • Afternoon all,

Well what a day!! Apart from our usual Saturday morning madness our post was fantastic :j:j

Item 1 - speedy turnaround of our next and probably last love film film. This may sound minor but looking forward to this evening :)
Item 2 - HSBC upholding my PPI claim - ok they offered £355.33 when the PPI with the interest was nearly £1600 but its progress I tell you!!
Item 3 - in operation clear out hubby found a share certificate (actually our only ever share certificate as we arent THAT minted:rotfl:) turned out they had been bought merged or something - anyway he has the new shares but we got £200 which was the cash fraction!! The original shares were free too :D:j:j

So all in all - I love our postie now and if I get done for chasing him down the road on Monday I hope you'll give me a character reference :D

Now then - to be good we are sticking to menu plan and not driving off for the nearest takeaway - tempting but I want the debt gone is 20 days time!!

Sorry if this is all quite ridiculously upbeat - I cant help it - normal service will resume on Monday :D

    Love LAGL xx

    Hi all,
I found you from the newsletter - have been reading through all your posts and am well impressed!! Too late for me to join for May but I'll look at starting in June!! And whilst reading through I've found the lowcostliving website, a great recipe for macaroni cheese, and tips on electric toothbrushes and Colgate Peroxyl all very helpful thanks!!:T:T

Wow, that does sound like a good day LAGL :D

Interesting about the PPI claim. I made a similar claim with my bank (bank charges rather than PPI) and was offered an amount with the explanation that it was 12 months of charges plus interest when I had and paid for the account for 6 years. Is this their tactic? Offer a smaller amount which is big enough to get people excited about and hope that they accept? I have to admit I almost accepted as I could do with the money now but I politely wrote back suggesting they made an error and to get get back to me with a revised offer :rotfl: I assume you're doing the same?

    Enjoy that film tonight :)
  • Siouxie, fear not I too intend to ask them to rework their calculator, they can borrow mine if they need to :D To date they have been really rubbish to deal with, I sent them all the info including the loan agreement and statements showing loan and ppi coming in and being taken back and they wrote back saying they couldnt find any information and had closed the case. I eventually spoke to two lovely ladies in Coventry and suggested that if the bright yellow highlighter wasn't sufficient I would drive to the office and point at the numbers for them :p. They will be getting a call on Monday :D

I agree with you - I think they kick their heels, send out numerous ombudsman forms and hope you will lose heart - this letter was a pleasant surprise as I got another blank ombudsman form at the beginning of the week! I think the opening line is going to be polite but something like, "Either you think I am really thick or the letter was written by a comic genius" Ok it wont really be but thats what I want to say!!

Right tea to cook - Love LAGL xx
