  • Right a spend day for me, as the manager's lunch happened and so to make sure I didn't have another spend day until the weekend, I grabbed my groceries. I also took advantage of the boots glitch jonesy88 - it was too good an offer to pass up as make up base was on my spend list, so the fact I got 3 for less than the price of 1 was just ridiculous!

    WELL DONE KAT!
How exciting about the forum being in the newsletter! I agree with you on the cinema - nothing like escaping for a couple of hours. Shame that the film wasn't great though. I can't wait for GG next week...I feel like I've been waiting a year for it to come out.

LAGL - hope that your daughter has a better night tonight and you manage to get some rest too! Poor thing :(

Sfd today but not yesterday, had to get dog food and petrol so last of budget gone, planning to do lots of things at home to avoid temptation of the shops and credit card cut up.
On day 3 of no tv and have to say we're not missing it at all. Dd is playing with her toys more and I'm catching up with a few unfinished craft projects.

Basically you get 3 No 7 BB Creams for £11.42 instead of 12.95 each due to a combination of special offers and vouchers. It was on at
Liverpool St Boots today after 6pm, and it looks like it's been on the forums for the past 4 days. More details here:

Ah I see I know this one. I did something similar a little while back with the vouchers and the "buy two get cheapest free"...

    Evening all,

SFD number 3 :j:j today. Had to take DS to the doctor this morning though as he'd been suffering with ear ache overnight. Quite surprised that I'm still awake :rotfl:Anyway he doesn't have an ear infection we think so he went to preschool this afternoon.

Expecting another SFD tomorrow but I am walking to town in the morning with a mummy friend of mine. My plan is to walk to the bank and pay in my change pot to the credit card and maybe have a nosey in the charity shops. Could do with some sandals for DS but not a major rush at the moment unfortunately.

Kat, weetabix is a pretty lame craving isn't it. While I was pregnant with DS I craved doughnuts and my coeliacs disease symptoms had switched off. This time round I'm just constantly hungry for anything except chocolate. I weighed myself while I was helping at weight watchers last night and I've only put on 16 pounds which is great. I put on 4 stone with DS.

Ooh I love a good glitch. I don't have Boots coupons though (nor do I need BB Cream...I don't think?!) so I'll pass for now.

After one too many porridge with water for dinner moments, I bit the bullet and hit the supermarket this evening. I also desperately needed washing up liquid so it was a bit of a bumper shop. £19.27 on food and household stuff, plus another £9.77 on ink and a brand spanking new A4 pad for planning my workload/gym visits/cooking and of course planning my finances :) This wasn't a food spend so I took it from my misc budget (and paid with coins, much to the annoyance of the man behind me at the till who couldn't have got any closer if he'd tried!).

I seem to have bought ink not so long ago but I think it leaked when I temporarily moved my printer mid spring clean so I needed more tonight :( Although it's to print money reclaiming letters so its worth the expenditure :)

On an unrelated matter, does anyone know a website that will tell you the calorie content of a meal if you type in the ingredients? My clothes are a little on the snug side so a spot of meal planning is in order.

I had two ebay items end tonight with bids so another £30 made :)

It seems to be one step forward and one step back at the minute. I have to renew my drivers licence, get a new passport and pay a whopping £450 bill that I hadn't really accounted for in the next month. Doesn't look like much is going to be paid off the debt - frustrating!!! Still, I'm in a much better position to fend off unexpected bills than I was before kat's challenges so I feel empowered to deal with them rather than sweep them under the carpet like I used to do.

Looks like another month of keeping my head down!

    May's budgets so far....
    Food: £30.86/£80
    Petrol: £20/£50
    Misc: £9.77/£85
    SFD: 6/21
  • Evening all.
how is everyone? Had a SFD today as havent been out apart from doing another bank shift this afternoon. Yesterday I ended up spending £2.88 on drinks and chocolate while doing a 8/9 mile walk, it was that or pass out on the roadside.....So much for organising myself this month.
On a nicer note, just caught up on my emails and apparantly I have won a copy of Dan Brown's new book :j. And today I received a free can of Dove deodarant to test. Since starting on my MSE trip and joining Kat's forums Ive had quite a few freebies from various sites, all adds up to saving money. LOVE IT!!!:T
