unless you have proof otherwise?
Certain mental illnesses, yes - but that's not what you said. You generalised, just in the way that I might say 'men are wife beaters'. Clearly I know that does not apply to all men, but certain groups of men do have a greater tendency, than the general population, to do so.0 -

I have 2 children, i have friends with children, i don't know of any child that would scream for 3 hours, unless it was ill.
Yes but you know how your children react in long car journeys etc. and can make an educated decision whether or not they would be able to cope with a long haul flight.
Would you really take your children (or grandchildren) on a long haul flight for a holiday knowing full well they would get agitated and likely to become 'moany' and cry, disturbing other passengers?0 -
Holidays no.
Family no.
The only reason no to the latter is because it's a choice that was made. You chose to move to another country and have a child. Obviously parents make many sacrifices when having a child, and I think this should be one.
Oh and this is assuming you know your child is a pain. There have been many people on this thread who have given examples of good behaving children. They can fly whenever they like
Wow! Just wow! I really don't think I've come across such an obnoxious small minded individual as you for a very long time....
So from what I can gather, kids that scream, cry and are generally noisy....not allowed on flights? Well behaved, quiet children....allowed? Ok, so following that logic, how would you know? Even the most well behaved children can become upset and cry.
To say children should be banned off flights etc is totally ludicrous, and yes, I do agree that it's extremely annoying, but no more annoying than a drunken idiot or a person that likes the sound of their own voice or someone kicking the back of your seat for example.0 -

DD can cope with being in the car all day with no problems.
However, I'm unable to rest the impact of taking off and landing on her ears, so there is a risk that she might be distressed then. I can have things with me to try and mitigate the risk, but I can't prevent it completely.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Yes it does! I was sick all over my Mam's skirt (I was 4), more or less a minute or two after we'd set off from home and still had an hours taxi ride and a 1 to 2 hour plane ride ahead of us....I was extremely travel sick (and quite possibly excited too!), poor Mam :rotfl:0 -

Yes, i would. Because you have absolutely no idea until you're on that flight how your child is going to react. Doesn't matter how they reacted last week, month, year. The majority of passengers don't mind crying children, if they're parents themselves, they usually understand. I always do. I'm not spending the rest of my life on the flight am i ? Kids cry, have tantrums, get over it,0
