Anyway your continued use of the words "bigots" and "loony's" - please wake up. That's 25% of the vote you are insulting.

You are right, not all UKIP voters are bigots, my apologies.
There are the bigots and the ignoramuses.

    Post corrected.

Careful. All sorts of things can happen now. Imagine if there was a coalition between UKIP and the Tories, Cameron booted out, a referendum on Europe as part of the deal and Labour kept out of government by the new coalition.

    Wouldn't that be just dandy.

Really cannot understand why anyone would vote labour - they don't stand for the values that they used to and claim to. Labour are the new conservatives.

Maybe the problem lies with you?

I have to say, everything you are writing on this board is spot on - ignore the uneducated name calling and political snobbery.

UKIP are on the pulse of the nation, its only a matter of time if the current conlablib continue the way they are.

I saw Farage on Andrew Marr this morning, he came across quite well. Largely by being reasonably straight talking and candid about what he wants, rather than waffling about what vaunted job in Westminster it's vital he does for the good of the world; something which is beyond any of the mainstream career politicians I have seen.

It made me feel sorry that I will never ever be able to vote UKIP as there is no Nigel Farage in any of the other parties. He is absolutely right about career politicians, and people are sick of them.

Totally agree - he appears to be putting the UK first and foremost - much as Thatcher used to. No wonder that the older voter is succumbing to his charm. He seems to be a likeable fellow who will fight our corner. He's very appealling.

Although his policies trouble me, if not scare me rather.

Is everyone who has legitimate concerns about uncontrolled unskilled immigration a bigot or stupid now?

Jesus, any other normal developed country outside the EU would think it was absurd to let people without skills (who will inevitably undercut their native workforce) into the country uncontrolled.

You'd probably be shot in the States for suggesting they do the same with Mexico.

Surely policy is everything.....appearances are nothing. Hitler came across as a kindly uncle to many of the German people and he certainly put Germany first! I'm not saying the two men are similar, ;) but surely policy is everything. People will see through his charm pretty quickly when they hear he wants to lower tax rates for the rich, outlaw gay marriage and replace maternity rights with a return to smoking in public places. The bottom line is they have raised some legitimate questions but anyone with intelligence would know their answers are rubbish!

In the words of Charlie Brooker:-
'Acting the buffoon is a winning political strategy, as Farage has discovered. It appeals to the gut'.

Not only bigoted and stupid - but racist and xenophobic also.

Well according to some posters on here anyway. My position on immigration is that we need a sensible and controlled system, and for that I have repeatedly been attacked on here as a racist by some ignorant posters.

The one and only reason those words are used of course - is in an attempt to stifle debate. It's the same tactic that is used by our government. They attempted to engineer an environment where you would be treated with contempt socially if you dared to speak out against the crazy immigration policy we are currently experiencing.

Only it didn't work, 25% of the population went out and voted UKIP last Thursday and now the politicians have done one of the biggest

    U

turns that we have seen for a while and are now saying that "we need to address peoples concerns about immigration".

Well hang on a minute, they said it was racist last week - Ken Clarke was having a right old pop wasn't he.

Of course you're not, it's just coincidence that you happened to put them both in the same sentence.

Ok ok ........ serious now......apart from immigration/EU withdrawal what do UKIP stand for? What is it about their policies that distinguishes them from the right wing of the tory party? For instance apart from stopping immigration what do they have to offer a working class person in the North?

Let me rephrase - he is putting the UK first, whereas other parties appear to have not done this (Labour's deliberate policy of uncontrolled immigration, the cost of the EU and their various laws). This is a similar quality to Margaret Thatcher.

It may well be a similar policy to Hitler, but surely you must admit that to mention Hitler in connection with Farage is a silly and spurious argument?

My posts have always been that we know nothing of the candidates; that there is no depth of talent; policies are chopping and changing.

My point is that Nigel Farage puts the UK first, not himself, not the EU. What's unattractive about that? Cameron and Milliband may come out and say that they put the UK foremost, unfortunately, no-one will believe them. If you don't understand the power of image, then that's a great pity.

Policies will become apparent in due course, and well before 2015. UKIP's image may well change by then, unfortunately for them, they only have Nigel Farage. There's just no-one else with any charisma or credibiity, yet.
