Given the state of the economy. Appears little other option available currently.

Tories are toast if they don't engineer a significant recovery pre-election.

Hamish, Labour won't make any significant gains in the South East so they won't be forming a Government anytime soon so whats the alternative?......

Don't you realise quoting from the Daily Mail says more about you than any argument you may be putting forward!;)

    Just to remind you - here is a link to where you said it;

So is it acceptable to quote from the Mail or not? Which is it? Maybe OK when you do it, since you are a snob who doesn't reason with UKIP supporters - but unacceptable when I do it because I am UKIP supporting scum (your words).

It all depends on the economy.

If the election was held today, according to the latest polling data, Labour would win an outright majority.

If the Tories can engineer a significant recovery then they have a chance. If not they're doomed.

I dont know, it depends if you apply Dan Hodges poll rule
    https://twitter.com/DPJHodges/status/313016110637273089

"Hodges Poll Rule. Drop Ukip to 6%, give rest to Tories. Take LD up to 15%, take from Lab. That's the real poll result."
This would put 39% Tories, 31% Labour and would just give the Tories a majority in government (due to the inequality in the seat sizes favouring Labour).

Even good old Ken says it as it is. UKIP are made up of xenophobic little Englanders who use the 'control our borders' excuse to hide their own bitterness at not having such a large slice of the cake anymore. Their policies on taxation are a joke and every other policy you'd care to mention is a reflection of the views of middle class male golf club bar room types backed up by the 'working class chav muscle of Paul Nuttall types:-

Regarding your gains tonight.....I don't really care because it will be the tories that take the hit....but in any event you'll be here today and gone tomorrow because you don't have any genuine values or principles to back up the xenophobia!
Thats all a bit rich when Ken Livingstone is on Iranian TV openly blaming the Boston bombings on US foreign policy.

Tory MP Brooks Newmark has written an opening letter to Ed Miliband calling for Ken to be ejected from the Labour party for these comments. It will be interesting to see how Ed responds.

Ok, I will join you :D

    Labour wins 291 seats.

Right wing politics now deeply divided between the centre right (cons) and the loony right (ukip & BNP).
Tories about to move further to the right to pander to the bigot and ignorant vote which will leave the centre ground free for Labour to occupy.

    Not bad at all. :)

The ignorance and name calling continues.

Yet more ignorance and name calling.
which will leave the centre ground free for Labour to occupy.

Careful. All sorts of things can happen now. Imagine if there was a coalition between UKIP and the Tories, Cameron booted out, a referendum on Europe as part of the deal and Labour kept out of government by the new coalition.

    Wouldn't that be just dandy.

Really cannot understand why anyone would vote labour - they don't stand for the values that they used to and claim to. Labour are the new conservatives.

Anyway your continued use of the words "bigots" and "loony's" - please wake up. That's 25% of the vote you are insulting.

Maybe the problem lies with you?
