I'd ask your CC company for a list of the transactions, principally the amounts and exact times. If there were a large number in quick succession then I'd say you may have a case, in which case it might be worth going to the police. Everyone is very quick to judge but it may be possible that something dodgy has happened.

Of course, it may turn out that you did authorise all the transactions and had the best night of your life. In which case, I salute you sir! Just a shame you can't remember it!

Everything probably seems like !!!! now but just think, when you're a father or grandfather and your son/grandson is giving the old fogey cheek because he's a boring old fart, you can tell him about the night you dropped five grand in a strip club!

Of course, at the current rate of inflation, by the time you're a grandfather £5k will probably just about cover a strip dance from the old man that empties the skips at my work...

I am sure this post has been on here before, or in the news, if not on here. It is a scam...I would contact the police and ask for their advice. I definitely remember reading this before.

The OP has no recollection of what happened, so what can he possibly tell the police?

For £5K I would want a lot more than just that.

if OP was drugged - i very much doubt he would have been able to remember, let alone enter his PIN.

OP the ladies did their job very well - they got as much £ out of you as they could.

not meaning to be rude - why should the credit card company pay for your "fun"?

this is a very expensive lesson - but i do feel for you :o

This is a harsh one on you. Did they tell you how much the transactions were for each time?

Find out which transactions were chip and pin ones and if any were swiped transactions.

Essentially they've screwed you over, it'll be tricky to claim back the chip and pin transactions as you presumably authorised them. Unless they took your card and found out your pin.

    Good luck!

This is the best peice of advice, get copies of receipts from the club or the CC company. You may find that you authorized something of a high value which could be unjustifiable.

Like others have mentioned, the fact you verified your PIN means that you authorized the transactions.... again highlighting above make sure all transactions were PIN verified and not swiped.

I'm not sure if I buy the OPs story and this sort of thing seems unlikely, but...

There are drugs that make a person exceptionally suggestible, you could spike someone and then tell them to go to the cash machine and withdraw x for you and they will do it, no questions asked. They retain complete control of their body and memory but have no ability to control themselves, I forget the name of the drug though. There's been lots of reports of it being a common scam in South America.

I find it unlikely they'd pick some guy in a strip club that has no indication of wealth to do it to though, if you're going to pick a target like that you pick someone that isn't going to the police, a business man or pope or whatever.
