Hi all, just to confirm what the rest of you have been saying about being polite. I recently received an offer from HBOS in settlement of my full charges and interest through the FOS and have been phoning over the last week or so to try and find out when it will be credited to my account. Each time being told that my acceptance had not yet been scanned up onto their system. Eventually spoke to a very helpful lady today who advised me it had now been officially scanned onto the system and my money would be credited into my account and that it usually takes 14 working days. I of course was a bit disappointed to wait even more time for MY money and the lady advised me that as my patience and politeness had been noted each time I phoned to query this claim they would make it 14 days instead of 14 working days so should be in my account round about 12th June. I will wait and see if this is the case and obviously pop back and let you all know. Keep up the good fight and even when you think you are getting nowhere plod on as my claim was first filed in January. Hope this is of some use to you guys.0

i understand that it was possibly just unlucky that i got the wrong guy to talk to but what should i do now.
do i just sit and wait to see if they respond to my letter? or do i wait for them to send another letter after re-investigating it? he never gave me atime limit so how long should i wait to hear back from them.
or should i just send the next letter template moving on the court action?
thought things were going well but that phone call has made me hit a brick wall since i don't have any timescales to work on now
well i guess ill just follow my own instincts then.
think ill call them back again today and see if someone else can be a bit more helpful and give me a timescale.0 -
just called there and was told that although i had put 14days on my letter, they are sticking by their policy of replying within a maximkum of 8 weeks so i will have to wait until then, which is at the end of this month.
just hope there are no more big decisions in court cases between now and then!!0 -
Just phones the BOS to find out what was happening to my two claims..... I was told they had both been rejected. I very politley asked for a re-evaluation as I disagreed with the reasons for them being rejected. My claime have now been "escilated" due to the length of time they have been on the system. I am not sur if the BoS's definitaion of the word escilate is the same as mine, but I will be phoning them regulary from now on.
If I had the spare cash I would be filling court procedings as I type as I am fed up with the length of time this has taken and the number of letters "lost" in the system. "I'm Just A Demin Boy"

Both nickmark and myself are volunteers and don't have to answer the myriad of questions that are placed on here on a daily basis, our job in fact is to keep the board running smoothly and to make sure that people read the information that is given both in Martin's article and this board.
The truth is that both of us, and Rex_Mundi who is offline at the moment, spend an inordinate amount of time researching and answering questions on the board and via pm which is way beyond our remit of a Board Guide.
I could go on but I won't, if you want expert's opinions I'm afraid this isn't the forum for you but as you can see from Martin's thread when the chips are down he'll step in and see what he can do.
good morning , please realise legality was not an issue nor the answers but the rude sometimes sarcastic nature of some reply's are that is all and to slap someone down when they have posted and opinion on this chat forum in a rude or belittling manner is not very nice espcially as you say we are all laymen, there are ways of putting things and down right rudeness or sarcasum is not it , manners cost nothing:A:rotfl: it's all making my head spin!!!!!!0 -
After ringing on friday to say that I wanted my claim to be re-evaluated and being told to try ringing again 2 days after they recieved my letter threatening court action they put £187.35 into my account on sat and after ringing them again today a further £262.65 went in today!!
I have put this on the sucsess thread but I wanted people to know to keep ringing Halifax. They seem to be giving in!0 -

Okey dokey.....3 days ago....having read Martin's recent news about Halifax, I decided that I too would write and ask them for a re-evaluation. I'd started the whole thing back in mid March. Lady on phone said that because mine was an 'old' case they would replying within 2 weeks. Am on benefits as a single parent of 2, and really cannot afford the £120 for claiming online....as much as would like to. But, hey, who knows, maybe they will crumble and will then be able to report to all that......STICK IN THERE....things WILL work out??? GOD, I hope so. Will keep you posted!!!!0

How long to get anything in writing regarding an offer from HBOS? I have called them and had acknowledgment that I have a claim and was told that I would get sent the list of charges along with an offer or rejection.0

hi, i called halifax this morning to ask about the possibility of settling out of court [i have had an acknowledgement last week to my mcol] i got told the same as you that it was an old claim [started mine at least 3 months ago now] and that if i hadnt heard anything by the 22 of this month to give them another call as my claim had been sent back up for revaulation [even though it looked like on my mcol they were going to defend?] now i am hopeing this is the truth and not me getting fobbed off but i will keep everything crossed[since about feb/march] as i would love to know what they concider an old claim?
good luck with your claim though:rotfl: it's all making my head spin!!!!!!0
