Halifax...
Hi all, im am confused at what to do, I put the claim to the courts and the fourteen days were up yesterday, Halifax hadnt acknowledged it, so today I was just about to press the judgement button when a letter arrived from Halifax offering me well below half, there was no mention of court, I tried to ring number at top of page 01244695179 kept getting no answer, then finaly a recorded message came through which was very distorted and all i got was number not in use and 0845 with nothing else, now I have already won by default, do I ring that 0199 number, contact halifax in any way or press the judgement button, pls help, cheers ..............
I had a similar problem and what I did was to ring the number on the top of the rejection letter and arranged for somone to deal with the claim there. The number I used was 01977 627292. Also dont settle for any less than the full amount, when push comes to shove they always back down.
Also another tip is if you have had any charges since your claim started they are happy to add these to the overall settlement. It may take a day longer as they have to check their records but it beats making a second claim.

I also rang tht special number and got through to a Steven. He was a very funny guy telling me some jokes. I explained tht i wanted my case re-Evaluating and he was very pleased todo it..He sed that he would get back to me in the next few days but i doubt he will offer me the full £3200.
Should i phone the same number again if i am not happy with my offer?0 -
I too spoke to Steve he was a nice guy, told me person i was looking for was in another office, and said he would email them to tell them to contact me, and told me if I havent heard from her in two days ,then to call back, and under his breath he whispered, if it was me I would ring fisrt thing in morning, wink wink.
Having said that I was told by someone in the know that seeing as I have already won by default I should start the Judgement, so I have taken that step, thanks to those who helped, hopefully I can return the favour, once again thanks all, dont give up.....Pete0 -

Trish - I spoke to Ronnie on Monday. I had originally spoke to him 3 weeks ago to first ask for a re-evaluation and he had said that if I didn't hear within the 3 weeks to phone him back!! So I phoned on Monday he was v.sorry that I hadn't heard before now and I that I will get a letter before the end of the week. I think the letter will have a rubbish offer but I am hoping to negotiate, I want to book my holiday;)

Graham has also dealt with mine over the last couple of weeks.
Saturday (23rd June) I recieved offers of half what they owed me-rang him Monday (25th June) to ask him if he would better the original offer.
(I was going to take it to the FO if they didnt-but I didnt tell him that)
Anyway sorted out a couple of charges that werent included & got my final offer which is just short of £2,000.00 thankyou very much!Recieved a letter today confirming everything & saying it would be in my account within 14 days Hooray at last!!
So all of you out there still battling-dont worry keep pushing for what is yours!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel & hopefully a new law to stop these ridiculous charges being put onto us!:A Thanks again Graham.:T
And Martin of course!!!0 -
Can someone also help me please....
I've had the details of all my charges and have received the standard 'we think we were fair to charge you what we did'.
I sent the letter to say I was prepared to accept a lower amount (charges amounted to 3989, told them i was prepared to accept 3000) or I would preceed to small claims court if they did not reply within 14 days. The 14th day is today, I have not heard anything, shall i carry on to small claims or ring Graham / Ronnie and chums first and give them another chance ???
Any advice would be appreciated - thanks....0
