  • Has everyone also registered with the consumer action group page. Really helpful as there are dedicated threads to the banks you're claiming against.

I submitted my N1s on 16th Jan in person at my local court. So will hopefully get some post in the ext couple of days saying that YB has been served with the notice.

Will let you know anything newas it happens.

lmh, How are you getting on? Have you submitted at court yet?

  • Hi all!

I have been reading all your posts and am excited to say I have just sent of for copy bank statements (with my 10 fee) I havnt seen anyone ever mention Yorkshire bank though, anyone know thier policy? I have 18 months of bank statments and there was over 1k charges on them, but I have a loan and credit card with them am I being a bit cheeky? I dont even mind if they pay off my loan with the fees! (I was forced into a 1k loan as I kept having my wages swallowed up with the overdraft, this ,they said was the only thing they could do) Sorry If Ive posted this in the wrong place Im a new member!
  • I'll shift you into the thread about Yorkshire bank in a minute so you can read other people's experiences with them.

Your loan will be a different agreement from your bank account.
  • wow Thanks Edingburghlass for quick response to that! However be gentle with me, Will I know where to look?
  • Hello!

I am going to try and reclaim bank charges from Yorkshire bank, I have opened an account with a different bank, but looking on here Yorkshire seem to be one of the tough cookies dont they? Its a bit scary but Im definately going to do it. New Years resolution I am not going to let ANYONE screw me over and thats that!

Hi to all fellow Yorkshire Bankers!

Well, a further letter came from the bank head office today stating that my offer of settlement in the sum of £1350 was rejected and that their position remained the same. Another cheque for £781.50 was enclosed.

Have filled out my claim form online and worked out the interest calculations - total claim in now £1563, plus interest of £444.65, making a total £2007.65 plus court fee of £120.

Will file claim later today once partner provides me with his credit card details!

I was so hoping they would accept my offer. The interest calculations have brough the figure much higher than I was anticipating!

    Wish me luck!

  • just wondering if there is anything I can do I am now being taken to court by Yorkshire bank for unpaid charges, but it was there fault I went over drawn in the first place and at £8 a day charges and another payment of £20 a month 1 months wages went in from work and it wasn’t enough to cover the charges they had given me, but they said it was part of the terms and condition when I opened the bank account.
then when they closed my account put in with debt agency and every time they wrote a letter to me it was another £20 so in the end it just kept going and going is there anyway out of this or will i just have to pay and get a ccj
    ?
  • Read Martin's article and then read it again and you can then start the reclaiming proceedure however if you are in a debt situation with Yorkshire and reclaim charges it is likely to go towards paying that off.
