  • Hi all I have read a few articles above saying that they have not heard of any success stories against the Yorkshire Bank. I have just threatened to take them to court for £700-00 received my court date and they have agreed to cough up but not for trying every possible trick in the book for example saying I have not sent them something, they even offered to pay me £200-00 which I refused. So a word of advise copy the courts into every letter being sent to the bank when you are at that stage and make sure you send it by first class post.So just a quick note to say don't give up hope, keep fighting it will pay in the long run. However I am just doing my mum's charges for her at the moment
She has received a letter from her local court. which states "The court has made this order of it's own initiative without a hearing." I have to respond to the court within 14 days with the following information.
1/ "The date and amount of each charge"
2 /"The nature of each charge"
3/ "In relation to each charge complained if the facts relied upon in support of completion that it was unlawfully charged the account"

Please can anyone help as to what might the outcome might be or /and what I need to send back to the court in relation to the letter.

Anyone help with this little problem, l am busy taking Yorkshire bank to court for my boyfriends 5 accounts. Today he recieved a letter from the court stating the case is to be heard in our local court and has attached Yorkies defence. The second paragraph of the defence is = The claimant has not specified the account number of the Account in his particulars of claim. In the absence of an account number the defendant has been unable to obtain copies of the statements for the Account and accordingly is unable to plead to the specific charges said to have been applied to the account or to the quantum of the Claimants claim. The defendant reserves the right to further plead to the specific charges and the quantum of the claim on provision by the Claimant of the account number. Now he has two letters the same and we are expecting the other 3 any day , has anyone had the same defence. I have done everything to the letter, is this just s tatic please help
  • Hi my brother had been rob by this bank of £10.000 so what he did he got him self a tool and a bally and whet in to the bank took his money back but they lock him in and he got 10 years for this so why can they do this to hard working tax paying people and not to the banks !!!!!!!!!!
  • I'm so ANNOYED - my court case was set for Sept 24th and of course yesterday I received the inevitable letter from the court saying the case has been stayed until after the test case. I was relying on getting the money back to pay off some debts. AArrrggghhhh!

Anyway - the reason I'm posting is to ask whether I should carry on with the court bundle and get it sent off to the court and Yorkshire Bank - or just wait until I get a new date through?

ALSO - I only calculated charges up to Jan 07 (which is when I started the process) should I now include Jan - July 07?

    Thanks!!
  • My sob story, Yorkshire Bank
The end of last month, a week or so before pay day, my friendly bank took out £67 from my account as a loan payment I took out with them. This put my balance 15p overdrawn. For this heinous crime I was duly charged £25, and then £8 for every day I was overdrawn. By the time I got paid I was £96 Overdrawn. Cheers Y.B.
I know it was my fault there wasn’t enough money there to cover it but for the sake of 15p! It’s unreasonable to say the least.
I will now be sending them a letter to demand a list of charges and I WILL GET THE MONEY BACK!!...hopefully...eventually...?
  • Hi can anyone please give me some advice I did the usual asked for statements dating back 6 years sent 2 letters claiming £3172 in claims, first letter was refused saying the charges are made clear in there terms and conditions second letter were I threatened court action was not replied to so I have now taken it to MCOL and Yorkshire bank have acknowledge my claim. I suggest you start at the beginning again: Read Martin's article (and the emergency guide) on the home page, then read the stickies at the top of the board.
