I am hoping somebody could give me some advice.
I started to go through a claim with Yorkshire Bank. I wrote the first letter with my £10 cheque requesting statements etc (used the letter templates on the forum). This was sent on the 18th June.
I received a bog standard letter from Yorkshire Banks dated 3rd July stating that they have 40 days from the date the cheque was cashed to send me the statements. The cheque was cashed on the 21st June so their 40 days were up on the 30th July (Monday just gone).
I still havent heard anything from them as yet. now I know we have had a postal strike and are still going through it but is this normla practice for banks to wind customers up and take their £10 and do nothing?
Is there anything i can do in the way of compensation etc so when I ring them in the morning I can hit them with something.
Any help will be a massive benefit.
My wife claimed £915 from Nationwide and was paid it back last month and her claim was effortless, no court date was set etc it was paid back to her as soon as she went to set a date at small claims they paid up0 -
i have sent the first two letters to the yorkshire bank and then sent my charges to them asking for them to be payed back to me i then got a letter saying that in the small print of my contract it states all charges are legal and that i would not recieve a penny back to which i sent a final letter giving them 14 days to pay me back or i would start court procedings but after this weeks ruleing i am not sure what to do next can anyone offer me some advice.0

After numerous letters to my bank - Yorkshire Bank - I have received an ofer from their solicitors of £250 - the usual line of not admitting anything but here's some cash anyway. I've had the cheque for just over a month now but haven't cashed it. It's about £500 short of the total I'm reclaiming but with the current developments I'm not sure what to do now? I'd like to hedge my bets by keeping the cheque just in case the banks win but as you only have 6 months to cash cheques it looks like the court case will take longer so should I return the cheque to the solicitors with a letter saying I'll take my chances on the court case and go for the lot or do I need to return it to the bank?

If you want to keep the cheque but want the whole amount you need to tell the bank you accept it as part payment and without prejudice only and will claim for the rest in court. If not, they have every right to assume you accepted the money as their full and final settlement. It is advisable to get your claim in the court system now if you are anywhere near the 6 year cut-off mark.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

If you cash it, this could be deemed as acceptance of the terms. To avoid confusion, I would state clearly to them, as Beate says, it is only partial payment. You do not accept this as full and final settlement. Note they may withdraw the offer though.0 -
Has anybody had an luck with any claims submitted just b4 the 27th july. Are any claims that were, likely to be paid out thru the courts or will i have to wait till the end of the hearing?
