To receieve JSA Hardship payments or stand a good chance
    You have to be

    Pregnant
    Have children
    Have long term disability
or, be a young adult coming out of state care

This is the deemed '"vulnerable" catergory I do believe, until your landlord evicts, you get into more serious debt, you stave if you have pride, etc etc etc

Actually if you have children you have no chance of getting hardship as you still get paid child tax credits (only the JSA and related benefits stop) the payment of CTC means you are getting some money so therefore don't qualify.

Thanks, as I don't have children I won't be finding out! - I am just going by what has been explained to me when I was recently handed a JSA10 - though really nothing should suprise me re dud info by now!! :o

Has I understand it, the hardship payment is heavily means tested, if you have ANY income, saving, or assets you probably won't get them.

I believe some in areas of the country, they offer loans now instead!

    hi all, ok here goes

ive just phone dwp to see how much is going into my account on thursday (i signed yesterday Monday 22/04)

to be told ive got a sanction from the 9/4/2013 until 6/7/2013

    i asked why

they said because i didnt apply for a job that was advised for me on the 25th of March 2013

ok heres my problem, the 25th of march was my signing day and an advisor linked it onto my universal login, BUT , it also expired the same day!, now when a job expires you CAN NOT click apply
so i was unable to apply for it, NOT my fault

which i explained to my adviser on my next signing day (8/4/2013)
her reply was "oh sorry about that"....thats was it, nothing else, no other questions

ive had NO letters/ NO phone calls about a sanction, apart from what the dwp have just said on the phone a few minutes ago

when i signed yesterday i was there for just a few minutes, no questions about it, just quick in a nd out , no real help from the advisor

ive made an appointment to go in tomorrow and fill in a dr7 and a jsa10, and have no idea how long it will take for the appeal to be sorted

this isnt fair!!!, ive done everything that has been asked to do, ive filled in everything needed to satisfy whats needed to look and apply for jobs in past

ive used this bug ridden universal job search thing which STILL isnt working right

ive contacted my CAB and am waiting for the local CAB to phone me to arrange a meeting with them

    anyone have any help here?

Untick the consent box in ujm.

They cannot sanction you then .

    We keep telling you people,

Do not give the dwp the right to see your personal information.

Do not tick the box because all it does is give them another reason to sanction you.

This doesn't solve anything, the JCP adviser has every right to print off every job they issue you and then e-mails or calls the employer after the closing date and check if you have in-deed applied. They are also within their rights to ask you to print the and supply the proof you have applied. Access or not to UJ makes no difference.

no it doesnt really solve anything, but does he have the right to post a job and it expire same day , so not allowing me to apply for it and then him sanctioning me for it?

You are clearly stupid, you work for the organisation that is issuing these unfair sanctions.

JC advisors have "every right" to issue unfair sanctions, that's nice to hear & very helpful.

More importantly you don't even comment on the OP's situation.

    Well busy mom,
What i have suggested cuts out the advisers right to sanction you if you do not apply to any jobs what they have sent you via the ujm site.

Please read the posts before you make such a comment.

Untick the box and get rid of another sanction trap. You know it makes sense.
