Just look at the sort of stuff they are coming up with now.
My own adviser (another new one!) has put "register with agencies, and arrange face to face contact" on the "steps to success" (direction) sheet, that's not a problem for me, but for a work program adviser to write that is shameful, I mean, what is HE for?!0 -

That on-line pscycho test is a joke Click here if you want to waste a few minutes of your life
Do it twice. Take it seriously the first time and click random answers for the second.
I clicked..'very much unlike me' ...for everything the second time and got pretty much the same results :rotfl:0 -
This doesn't solve anything, the JCP adviser has every right to print off every job they issue you and then e-mails or calls the employer after the closing date and check if you have in-deed applied.
The employer has every right to tell the JCP adviser where to go, and will be in potential breach of the Data Protection Act by providing any information.0 -
You are clearly stupid, you work for the organisation that is issuing these unfair sanctions.
JC advisors have "every right" to issue unfair sanctions, that's nice to hear & very helpful.
More importantly you don't even comment on the OP's situation.
And what give you the right to pass such insult!!
Yes i work for an organisation that pays benefit that comes with conditions. I am paid to enforce those conditions.
I am pointing out that it makes no difference how an employment adviser notifies you of a vacancy as long as they notify you to apply, they can put it in your account, print it off and issue you with, e-mail it to you, really makes no difference as long as they notify you.
No JCP worker has the right to sanction anyone benefit, all they do is refer to a decision maker, they use the law and determine if that person is at fault.
The person has the right to appeal the sanction, he has the right to apply for hardship.
No id didn't comment on the original post as many other have I was replying to a post where people think that not giving access to their UJ account will save them from a sanction when this is fact incorrect. If people do not want to receive a sanction then i'm afraid they need to comply with the rules, whether I agree with them or not is irrelevant I cannot change them. personally I do not like UJ think it is a waste of time but hey I cannot change it!!0 -
Well busy mom,
What i have suggested cuts out the advisers right to sanction you if you do not apply to any jobs what they have sent you via the ujm site.
Please read the posts before you make such a comment.
Untick the box and get rid of another sanction trap. You know it makes sense.
Unticking the box makes no difference!0 -

They automatically enter into a contract with DWP when they place a vacancy to provide information. They are not in beach of the act as they are deemed a partner.
Some employers reply some do not. Many get too many applications to even be able to confirm if the customer has indeed applied. All I am saying is there is a process written into the guidance for how advisers must follow up vacancies.
It is not a secret or conspiracy. People claim jobseekers allowance sign an agreement as to what they will do.0 -
Don't wait, do it NOW!
Sanctioned or not they can still send 'recommendations' and you will be expected to apply. You don't want another sanction sneaking in before you've got past this one.
Recommended jobs are not subject to sanction as they are not notified by an employment adviser, if any one is sanctioned for not applying for a recomended job then this is wrong and they should appeal.
IF your adviser goes on to notify you of the same said job via a seperate search (not by clicking on it in your account) then this may change, but they either need to then issue you with it so save it in your saved jobs.0 -

Yep, sorry, that's what I meant. Saved, not recommended - The jobs an advisor can put in your account and expect you to act on..0 -
Busy mom - thank you for taking your time to comment as someone who claims benefits I appreciate your input, it is interesting to hear the side of an adviser.
I think peoples concerns (mine anyway) with signing up to UJM is you can be sanction for not applying for a job that is totally unsuitable as it has just been sent to you without any discussion first. I appreciate that if you are handed a job to apply for in the JC that the same rules apply (it has always been this way) however at least in this instance you do have a chance to speak to the adviser to refuse the job explaining your reasons why and if there are valid reasons why the job is unsuitable then it can be removed?0
